Well Mr. Guest, putting gaming aside, the going down of internet, or in the wider sense, electrical network communication, is going to throw the entire Earth population nearly a century back in technology, destroying vital ways of communication and slowing down human technological advancement by miles.

Come to think of it, without fast communication methods, all areas of our life is going to collapse - in particular financial, multi-billion investments, stock exchange is going to throw Wall Street into absolute chaos, papers flying everywhere, clients, brokers, personnels of every resorting to make hundreds of phone calls while millions are being lost every second. Possbily triggering the reincarnation of The Wall Street Crash of 1929, consecutively triggering the Great Depression.

And we all know what happened because of the Great Depression - World War II

Being a bit dramatic here, but it probably doesn't even take financial breakdown to initiate a war - when the modern military, controlled and moderated by computers, suddenly just shut down, out of control, what if we got ourselves a real life Terminator problem? Somewhere suddenly snapped in the military network and suddenly one country sent a few hundred inter-continental warheads to another country, triggering retaliation, or just everything suddenly snapped, all the biochemical, WMDs, nuclear missiles soared into the sky, obliterating every last bits of human kind?

Rofl at the rick roll. IT would be a pain in the ass to rick roll someone with no internet. I also aagree with the Cd's skyrocketing in prices. If there was no internet who could stop them? Pirates would be out of a job or whatever.

Actually, i'd prefer the internet go down, i've learned what I needed to from the internet and created my unique identtiy already. All mmo's are boring now and no new good ones are out, I prefer cell texting over msn, and also the outside world will be more filled and populated since people will have to get out, and it's fun to see lot's of people walking around.

Oh dear, that would be like a gamer's hell. All the games you can play, but you have no thumbs...

Hahahaha, funny shiet. But I don't think the time the Internet will go down, will ever come. Since, from what i've heard, isn't the Internet a self functioning  virtual world? The only way to shutdown the Internet, would be to terminate all physical world terminals, computers and electronics which connect via the internet. But even then, the Internet still exists.

Right, I'm sure before the internet was created, even before home entertainment was created, people had ways to enjoy themselves, and mind you the internet was created in the recent decades, human history spanned WAY longer than that, I'm sure there's other entertaiments than "read a book".
