You might think this movie is all about asian but this movie is actually directed and written by a white guy.

The Movie is about a 40 years-old Jimmy lives in his sister's house and share a bunk bed with his 10 years-old nephew. Jimmy got a lot problems, cannot forget about his previous wife, his brother-in-law hates him, the woman he loves thinks he is a stalker and so on. But will he able to solve his issues? And able to move out of his sister's house?

White On Rice is a Independent comedy film.

Overall, the movie is hilarious and I cannot stop laughing but it goes a little slow. The main character, Jimmy is kind silly and retarded but funny at the same time. He is like a Japanese Napoleon Dynamite. The movie is clashed with Japanese and American's culture. One of funniest quote from the movie is, "It's hard to be an adult. Lots of things to worry about... like the water bill." The funny part about that quote is that Jimmy is telling his to his 10 years old nephew, Bob and Bob already got his own business and earn more money than his uncle (probably). If you are looking for some laugh, I totally suggest you to watch this movie.

• The movie was filmed in Salt Lake City.
• The Movie was base off the Director, Dave Boyle's life. Dave was a college drop out and lived in his sister's basement. And his sister was florist too.
• Director can speak fluent Japanese.
• "Bob" is twice of his seize now.
• Jimmy's accent is real!
• Yes, James Kyson Lee is in it and he is Jimmy's co-worker.
