Hero Online ReviewCategory: Reviews Posted on 2009-05-27 08:04:51 Add to Bookmark |

Hero Online used to be a very popular game. As time went on things changed and its popularity declined and players went to other games. Despite this, it still managed to retain a level that is equivalent to about half of its former peak. Hero Online is a very simple MMO based on Ancient China with some nice touches of mythology here and there. I know this review is late, but since Netgame is shutting down pretty much half of their other games, its nice to know that this one is still around. Story: The game actually has a decent story and puzzles to solve. Unfortunately the game can't decide where to go exactly so you have multiple story quests. The end of each segment rewards you with a nice item and picture for you to look at. The problem is that each segment of the game feels like its on separate story with nothing actually linking the game together. The entire game is based on some novel but I didn't care much about the source material only what the game has to offer. Graphics: By now, the graphics are fairly dated. They aren't bad, but I would position it somewhere just below that of Cabal Online. Character customization does not exist. Your look is based on one of the chosen ba |

Atlantica Online Leveling Guide (61-95)Category: Other Posted on 2009-05-18 09:34:39 Add to Bookmark |

Level 59-67 (Hanging Gardens of Babylon): Up next after this should be the lvl 95-100 guide. There is a steep grind at those levels compared to other ones.
Level 59-67 (Hanging Gardens of Babylon): For the first time in a while, you will encounter some easy enemies with one or two exceptions. Almost any enemies here are good for farming with the exception of the Keysha enemies. I personally recommend the Slave mobs. They're relatively weak but still give decent experience and drops. Most of the enemies here are fairly weak and worth training on. The first miniboss here is the Iron Doll Reaper and it only appears in the entrance area. It attacks like an axe would so that means your entire row could be dead in a few hits so keep that in mind. The second one here is like a giant Lionman. They tend to drop a Secret Material Chest. Something that lets you pick from either Growth Vials or Mandragora. A lot of people are willing to pay high for Mandragora, but Growth Vials are much more useful to you in the long run. The Prophet quest does not begin until level 70 so in order to obtain it you will need to revisit here later. The boss here (Tiamat) is fairly tough as well. I recommen |

Dragonica Online ReviewCategory: Reviews Posted on 2009-05-18 06:04:20 Add to Bookmark |

Dragonica is another attempt at an action based MMORPG. I guess the closest relation to this game would be Maple Story. It seems to be like that more than any other. The primary difference is that the characters and backgrounds are in 3D instead of 2D. Other than that it is very similar to the other Maple Story and LaTale and any other clones of that genre you want to associate with it. Story: Introduction to magical world by some floating blue fairy thing. Wolves attack a village and you are forced to defend it. Graphics: The graphics is trying to convey a unique style of super deformed characters and a 3D background yet still trying to keep the game as the side scrolling action game. The skill effects are fairly simple and the most complex effects are at the portals. Characters are fairly bland and share the same equipment for many levels. It isn't until you reach the job change that characters start becoming more diverse in looks. Otherwise everyone looks like the same person with a different hair style attached to them. Gameplay: Character creation is simple. All you need is a name, one of 4 basic classes, a hair style, and a face you will almost never see. The hair style and hair |

I Hate Random BoxesCategory: Other Posted on 2009-05-06 06:48:27 Add to Bookmark |

I'm not exactly sure how many games out there use random boxes in their item mall or item systems, but the two that I do play that have these features are Atlantica Online and Lunia. Random boxes are exactly what they say they are. You have a chance to get 1 of several items from the box but you don't get to choose which one. Sometimes you are given 1 that you can't even use. The following is my rant about it.
1) Its random! I spend hours or days trying to get this rare box. The result? I get a piece of crap worth less than what the box could have sold for if I didn't open it. Chances are its also useless to you because it wasn't what you were looking for. In fact, its 1 of the 20 other items in the box that you didn't need and not 1 of the 3 you might need. Or worse yet, it might be an item that you can't even use. Its just a scheme to drive up rarity on items that aren't even suppose to be rare. On top of that the game developers like to keep it mysterious so you don't exactly know what you're going to get until you open it. Its just an incentive to get more boxes and open more of them. Either that or you just save your money and just pay like 20x the value of t |
