Nexon has spent a lot of time building the hype for this game. Much of the game is left to the eye of the beholder. Dungeon Fighter Online (DFO) is a traditional side scroller beat em up in MMO form. By now I believe it is around 5 years old but the problem is that each of the other versions of the game has IP bans on countries that are outside that region making it difficult to play with players from other parts of the world. This review was a bit late though. CB ended nearly 2 weeks ago but I haven't had much time. Hopefully I'll get around to Aion CB review some time soon. IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN THE U.S. OR CANADA YOU MOST LIKELY CANNOT PLAY THE NEXON VERSION. Story: I didn't care about this. Something about special people called Dungeon Fighters. Then after that I stopped reading. Graphics: For an older game, the graphics are done nicely. The characters and enemies are in 2D while the backgrounds are in 3D. Some of the high end skills have very nice effects while the low end skills aren't as impressive. The main problem is the lack of character customization. Character customization only exists t |

Atlantica Online is no longer targetting casual gamers!Category: Default Posted on 2009-08-14 11:53:12 Add to Bookmark |

One of the best things about Atlantica Online was that it was casual up until lvl 95. Stamina was suppose to offset grind, but it never did. Players just left their computer on overnight to build it up and use it before the reset. Starting from lvl 95+, that changed. The exp curve took a steep climb and turned into your typical Korean grinding MMO. The only thing that offset this was the possibility of getting 5% towards your next level by doing 3 quests and 2 Free League battles each day. Without this, many players would have never gotten past lvl 95 (and many still don't). Now comes the dreaded lvl 130 patch. If you thought that level 95+ was bad, getting from 120 to 130 requires more than 4 times the total experience it took to get from 1 to 120. That's a whopping total of over 8 billion experience. For a measurement of how bad that is, a monster in the lvl 120 dungeon gives about 45000 exp and the total of all the quests amounts to maybe 10% of what is needed to get to lvl 121. It would take around 7000 kills for a lvl 120 player to reach lvl 121 and each level gets significantly worse. Right now, many of the top players who have been going over the experience limit proba |

Why the top 10 F2P MMORPGs with PvP is flawedCategory: Other Posted on 2009-08-03 05:23:05 Add to Bookmark |

Reading that article just gave me a good laugh. Thought I'd write about it. 10) Cabal Online Cabal Online is good, but the problem lies in the combo system and unrestricted PvP. The combo skill makes it impossible to dodge attacks and the combo system relies on perfect timing. Any lag with the server means you get screwed. Defense matters not dodge since every hit will land. All the special battle modes are made useless by the combo system. Mages get screwed and Force Bladers dominate the game with overpowered debuffs. PvP is also unrestricted in many high level areas. The result? Anyone with higher tier equipment can just show up and kick your ass and then move along. Nothing is there to prevent this from happening. 9) Shaiya It takes a long time to get anywhere in this game. By the time you reach a decent PvP level and only hardcore grinders. Why? You have to grind up several characters so that you can get a hard mode character with better stats. Otherwise you will be at a severe disadvantage due to having lower stats than someone else because they have a hard mode rather than a normal mode character. It doesn't matter if you're the same level with the same equipment. Higher diffi |
