Few Newb Questions & Answers of Perfect World
Category: Default Game: Perfect World Posted on Nov 11, 2008 10:07 pm
I was just began to play perfect world, and the game is a bit of to massive and tanglesome lol,
These is a post from official forum. it answered some stuff that i was confusing.
The questions were asked by Hazardus - Heavens Tear, orange text are answers by Monarch - Lost City, and bue text are extra info or notes by xauss
1. I read here that weapons or armors have different 'levels'. Is that the same as 'grade' mentioned on the item's details or is that something else that I'm missing.
(Yes, Grade/Level same thing.)
-
2. Manufacturing items. I've just learnt the basic skills. I'm guessing I need to manufacture 10 items of one grade to move on to the next level of the skill? If so then how many skill levels are there for these skills and does progressing to the next manufacturing skill level depend on your characters level like in the combat skills?
(Yes, you need to craft 10 items of that level to be able to move up to the next. There are 5 levels of crafting. You can get 1-3 pre lvl 50, and at lvl 50 you get the quest for lvl 4 crafting.)
10 items of that tier (you get a lower amount of skill xp if you craft lower grade items)
you cannot create items of a higher tier than your skill level, and you cannot get the craft quests to up your level until your character reaches the appropriate level (e.g. you need to be level 50 to get the quest for tier 4 crafting)
3. Is it all right if I make one wep every few levels (as I need it) or do I need to make more and get to the next manufacturing skill level sooner? I guess another question here is can I manufacture weapons of a higher level/grade than my current manufacturing skill level.
(If you stick solely to 1 weapon type (Say dual hammers) then the next dual hammer is in 10 levels.)
no you cannot "manufacture weapons of a higher level/grade than my current manufacturing skill level"
4. Manufacturing items myself seems to save me some gold at least in these lower levels. Does this trend continue into higher levels, or at some point does it just become cheaper to buy from NPC directly? (assuming you have not got enough drops for jades etc. and need to buy those form an NPC).
(Crafting your own will always be cheaper (granted you harvest instead of cash shop or player shop) and has the added benefit of extra stats on the weapon. All merchant bought are straight 1 star items.)
the reason people craft is to get better equiptment than NPC stuff, and to be less reliant on others. levelling crafing is actually expensive for a player, since selling the mats would be more profitable
5. I read here that weapon/armor stats can be varied by Imbuing a soul-stone into it. I guess the wep/armor needs a socket for that. My current level stuff doesn't seem to have any sockets. I'm assuming higher level equipments do. At what levels do items start having sockets and at what level do I need to start using them?
(Any level of item can have a socket, it just has to be dropped from a mob or player crafted.)
all made / dropped items have a chance of sockets. weapons can only ever have a maximum of 2, and armour 4. jewelry doesnt have sockets
6. If I were to disassemble a weapon I had imbued stones into, can I get the stones back? Or do I just get some Yinguan (white stones) which I cant seem to do anything with?
(You cannot get the stones back as far as I know. The Yinguan stones can be used to create certain items at the apocothary as well as fuel the "burst" function of your flying mount.)
diassasembling (fully repaired) 3* items give mirage stones. you never get soulstones, and all other 1*/2* give 'fuel'
7. I also read that an item can be refined with a mirage stone. What is the benefit of refining a wep over imbuing more/higher level soul-stones (I know they must be same level as wep, but wouldn't that be enough?). Or am I to understand that refining increases the total effect of the weapon/armor and the stones?
(You can fill the sockets with the gems, and mirage celestones add a +1 - whatever + on the item, improving the stats for each +.)
refining (+s) improves the item. it adds attack to weapons (both mattck and pattck on magic weps). it adds HP to armours and increased, pdef, mdef or dodge on jewelry (depending on what sort the jewelry is)
8. Lastly, about materials. I read lower grade soul-stones can be made into higher level stones by the jewel craftsmen? Is there any similar method to convert ('refine'?) lower grade mats into higher grades? For e.g. X amount of Pig Iron can be refined into one of carbon steel?
(I believe there is a system, I personally have not used it. But I horde all mats and will use them to craft stuff for an alt toon some day.)
soulstones can be upgraded to higher tiers, mats cannot
