News of a new Street Fighter-based movie got the audiences and fans wondering how moviemakers will pull this off. Despite being a box office bomb, the very first Street Fighter movie (starred by Van Damme and Raul Julia) gained cult status. The plethora of well-known Street Fighter characters had their share of the spotlight, staying as close to the game’s description as possible. And who could forget Raul Julia’s Oscar-worthy portrayal of M.Bison? The Street Fighter genre returns to the silverscreen in the form of “The Legend of Chun-Li.” Will it live up to the hype?

Street Rep

Chun-Li’s supposed legend is the typical story filled with emotion and usury. As a child, Chun-Li wanted to be a piano player, but also loved learning tai chi from her dad. In a twist of events, she witnessed his father taken away by M.Bison. More than a year ago, the world was shocked to see leaked pictures of what seemed to be a live-action film Hollywood adaptation of the famous anime series, Dragonball. Many had hoped to dispel the news as mere rumor or a failed attempt at Photoshop. But the constant stream of leaked photos and the eventual revelation of the Dragonball film only spurred more anger and negative feedback, perhaps even a source of satirical commentary. We’ve read numerous newsflashes and reports about Dragonica’s obstinate bugs and critical flaws. Some of us expectant players may have been disappointed, impatient or frustrated at the pace the beta is taking. But IAHGames recently made a move to alleviate everyone’s frustrations and prove suspicions wrong, by opening the servers for four days to players outside closed beta.

This review will be as condensed as possible; to give justice to the game’s brief experience they gave to the players. Please take note that Dragonica is still in the beta phase, and as such, many changes can and will take place. This review is a record of experiences during the 4-day stint I had with the game. I will give a full review once this game goes commercial.

First Dragon Flight

The preview client has no updater to run, and instead takes you directly to the login screen. It was nice to see Dragonica having around 5-6 server slots reserved, with a maximum of 12 channels per server. During that period, only one server was opened with 4 active channels. It’s an opinionated discussion of gaming’s good and bad ideas, be it from the past, present or future. There will, of course, be facts presented, just to enlighten the readers about the background of a certain game or system or whatnot.

In this debut issue, we tackle the MMO world’s good and bad ideas for a game. What games should be out there? What games should not be lifted off the drawing board? This article also lists down some “stalemates,” ideas placed in between good and bad, ideas that are neutral because of the balance set by the good and bad reasons.

Please do note that this list is very much limited. Surely, I cannot list all the possible good and bad ideas in one go. You can add your own good and bad ideas related to this topic by posting it as a comment down below.

This year-ender article looks back at the glory and despair of MMOs in the past year. Sit back, relax, and keep your rage to yourself for now. Battling for the top spot has never been this tough. This year’s games have been absolutely captivating and has reeled in more players, both newbie and veteran, than ever before. This is until we reach Taborea’s epoch of discovery, the game’s setting and timeline. This is an era filled with uncharted lands, monsters, and numerous discoveries waiting to be revealed. And that‘s where your journey begins.

Magically Surprising
