There Are More Ladies Gaming Than Ever BeforeCategory: Something Else Posted on 2009-06-30 04:46:11 Add to Bookmark |

Guys, we are facing a problem now...following quotes from kotaku.com Hey, lady gamers: your ranks are increasing. A study by the NPD Group has revealed that the number of female console gamers is on the rise, reaching 28% of the console userbase earlier this year. That mark represents a 5% increase over 2008, and was helped along by a 19% increase in Wii use across the board. "Last year was one of the most transformative in history in terms of defining the audience for gaming, says Anita Frazier, from the NPD Group. "Even with the increased competition from mobile and social network gaming, the console gamer segment added the most new participants to its ranks in the last year." If you're wondering how they came across these numbers, they were drawn from a survey group of 20,000 people, aged 2-65. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay my only problem with the survey is, 2-5 year olds can do a survey? My 2 years old nephew prefers throwing my controller to pressing buttons to play

Who's Killing The Music Industry Now? Video Games!Category: Default Posted on 2009-06-15 01:49:16 Add to Bookmark |

But are all those Sam Goody's closing and executives whining over just the rampant illegal downloading, not purchasing, of music? The Guardian argues that video game spending is contributing to, if not causing, the commercial music industry's woes. At least in the UK, video game spending has risen from £1.18 billion in 1999 to £4.03 billion in 2008, as music sales sank from £1.94 billion to £1.31 billion. The Guardian argues that those of us disposing of our income are happier to dispose of it on a forty hour game than on four CDs—or on a game in which we can play the music we love. The publication also throws DVD spending into the mix, but the rise in sales there isn't as dramatic. Last time I purchased a CD? About six months ago. Originally from Kotaku.com |

Gaming Instead Of Sleeping Makes You TiredCategory: Something Else Posted on 2009-06-12 02:00:19 Add to Bookmark |

A research study at the University of Arkansas has indicated that excessive gaming interferes with sleep. Thank goodness that mystery has finally been solved. Research studies sound like a great deal of fun. You get to arbitrarily assign values and definitions and then cull data based on those arbitrary assignments in order to get obvious answers! Take this University of Arkansas study, which was presented at the 23rd Annual Meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies on Monday, surveyed 137 students - 87 females and 50 non-females, you know, to preserve balance...somehow. They then separated the results for excessive gamers from the casual or non-gamers, defining excessive as those who spend more than 7 hours a week playing computer games or using the internet. My mother spends over seven hours a week using the internet. By this study's standards, my mom is hardcore. Principal investigator Amanda Woolems indicated that previous research has determined that excessive gamers spend less time in bed. True, though I'd say that depends on the frequency of save points in whatever game I might be playing at the time and whether or not I've fallen asleep in m |

That's Why I Hate PhotoshopCategory: Something Else Posted on 2009-06-08 02:37:55 Add to Bookmark |

Actually, I don't hate it, however when you finish watching the following photoshop works just as I do, you know what I am talking about! Some one says always trust your eyes, Oh really?
More photos here Well I'm not here talking about how ugly they originally look, but everytime when you see the right side of each picture, how could you just realize these elements (most of them are important to the feeling of a photo) are fake? There's no doubt girls in current days like photoshopping their photos to make themselves look better, to me that's what I hate most, because I feel sad people only make friends according to appearance. |
