MMO games can be used not only for fun, but also for terrorist plots, shows the following study conducted by Pentagon researcher.

Do you find anything strange or worrying in this game convo? No? Well, you’re apparently not scared as the American military and intelligence workers who are increasingly worried that terrorist might plan a real life attack in the virtual world. But, the terrorist still haven't given many details about how it might be done. So, the Pentagon researcher has shown how such terror plot might unfold. The planning ground he used in his experiment was World of Warcraft. The main target of the possibly nuclear strike is as usual: the White House.

However, there’s still no public evidence that terrorists hatching plots in virtual worlds. But online spaces like World of Warcraft and other popular MMO games are making some generals and congressmen really nervous about the whole idea.
They imagine terrorists rehearsing attacks in these worlds of MMO games, just like the U.S. military trains with commercial shooters.

They are worried that the massively multiplayer online games make it incredibly easy to gather plotters from around the world.
But, spies ma

   OR     ?

Which would be released first?

Developers Blizzard have a long standing policy of not releasing anything until it is finished. So, if it takes a few years to put out a game, that's the way it has to be. The rule works great for quality purposes--Blizzard's games are pretty much always air-tight--but it tends to encourage speculation on release dates. Here's today's speculation:

According Battleforums.com, PC and Mac PRG Diablo 3 will arrive before the previously announced PC and Mac real-time-strategy game StarCraft 2.

BattleForum's unnamed source at Blizzard says: "Starcraft 2 is still being worked on, but only by a minuscule amount of people compared to what [Blizzard] put on the Diablo 3 team."

Take that with a gigantic grain of salt and a couple dozen Zerglings--in the end, both games will come out when they are finished, and that could be anytime.

Anyway, I wish both of them would be released on 2009. Of course, my most anticipated game is still Diablo 3. Cant wait for it!

Yes, it's not in a private server or some one use BUG. It's  possible to reach from level 1 to 60 in 20 minutes with recruit enough friends. Please see the video below:

However, it's not that easy because the friends you recruited must get enough level. Like if you invite 60 friends, and all of them level up to 3, you'll archieve level 60 quickly.

Anyway we should thank author doing this for us. It's an interesting experiment indeed :)

Blizzard Entertainment has recently released a new cinematic introductory trailer of WOTLK.

The Wrath of the Lich King, and it’s chilling – to say the least.

In the short, yet mind-blowing, three-minute clip, we see the Lich King traverse an arctic wasteland, and then plunge his sword into the snow to summon forth a gigantic demon.

Yes – this beast will be an actual enemy in the game, and that can only mean one thing to a seasoned WoW player: EPIC LOOT.

Sadly, Blizzard still has not announced a release date for the WOTLK expansion yet, so it’s going to be a while before gamers – at least, those not in the beta – find out exactly what that loot is.

I just came across an interesting article in Kotaku recently

"In the cutthroat world of World of Warcraft gold sales, a company has to try pretty hard to stand out, especially in the face of companies like IGE. A reader name Joe logged into Ironforge this morning to be greeted by the company's website spelled out in dead gnomes. While his pictures didn't capture the full name, heading over to xxxxx.com I found the above pic, proudly presented at the top of their website.

A quick search of the WoW Armory to cross-reference names reveals that this took place on Dunemaul, a server no doubt very proud of the entrepreneurial spirit displayed here. A quick search of MMOInn reveals that their prices, for those so inclined, suck compared to IGE's, but hey - nice dead gnome sculpture."

Of course I do not like Gold selling site in fact, but I'm shocked by the idea of advertising. I must admit it do attract many ppl's attention.

Do you have more brilliant ideas of advertising in game?

It's a sad day when an MMO has to close down, unfortunately, it is a reality we all have to face.  Fury's CEO Tony Hilliam announced on the game's official forums that they have reached their time limit to find a solution which will keep the Fury servers open and that they have no choice but to shut down the servers in 48 hours.

He apologized to the players who enjoyed Fury for not being able to find a viable business model that would allow them to keep playing and he threw a shout out to the Auran team, saying that they did their best but it just wasn't enough to keep the game going.

The developers of the game have already taken the liberty of informing game stores to remove their video game from the shelves more than a month ago. They added that if you purchased a copy of the game within the past month, you may want to take it back to the store.

That said, we would like to wish the Auran team the best of luck in whatever future endeavors they may partake in. Know that there are players who will miss the game you guys created.

It's a good news that I heard recently. It means Hellgate London &  Mythos is survive at last. But the only question is, whether T3 Entertainment can change them into successful games? Because I've no idea about T3 Entertainment other games except Audition. But anyway it's a casual MMO, quite different from Hellgate London &  Mythos.

Anyway better late than never, expect for a new life of Hellgate London &  Mythos.

According to new job posting-related information, Asian publisher T3 Entertainment is setting up a San Francisco development studio to carry on work on Hellgate: London and Mythos, following developer Flagship's recent layoffs.

The postings, which have appeared on multiple sites including DICE.com and Gamasutra, reveal: "T3 Entertainment is searching for creative minds to passionately continue development of Hellgate: London and Mythos, along with other new games, which are being published by HanbitSoft Inc."

According to the call for programmers: "A development studio has been established in San Francisco, CA, with hopes of gathering those who wish to join us in starting a new chapter of history in the game industry.&qu

Empire magazine is already posting pictures from this weekend's ComicCon out in San Diego (WoW Insider also has correspondents there on site), and though they have no idea what they've stumbled across, it sure looks to us like what might be DC Unlimited's Series 4 WoW figurines. And rather than just the standard player characters, Blizzard and DC are going a little NPC for this series -- as you can see above, they've included everyone's favorite elite gnoll, Hogger himself. Also included in the series are a Succubus of some sort (with what looks like a Tauren with a polearm in the back there), and a gun-wielding Tauren Hunter.

The figures all have signs that say "Worldwide Debut Friday 4pm" on them, so it looks like we're getting to see them a little early. And Blizzard is excited, too -- Slorkuz has even written a poetic ode to Hogger in honor of his likeness being immortalized.

Project lead and programmer Travis Baldree recently wrote a goodbye letter to the MMORPG's beta test community as he prepared to depart from Flagship. Here reads part of Travis' letter:

Well, it's an interesting few days here for all of us. It's just been killing me not to post until now, but I really needed to wait until some things were settled and announced. As you may or may not know Flagship Studios laid off almost all employees effective friday - you should be able to see the press release in the Announcements. Now, on the face of it, that really does sound like the end of Mythos as we know it - but we have a tight-knit team that feels like family and hopes to stick together. Unfortunately, I can't speak at any real length about our immediate plans just yet - but let's say that we hope to have you back up and Beta testing for us in one way or another sometime soon.

I'm sad to hear this news. We consider Flagship's hellgate: london as a failure, that's because we gave to much hope to this game. We believed it's a great game and compare it with diablo3. It's unfair indeed.

Anyway, hope they can survive and continue their work, best wishes to Flagship!
