MMO Revolution: Meet the PeregrineCategory: Ramblings Posted on Jun 03, 2009 Add to Bookmark |

The WHAT? The Peregrine. Hopefully, if all goes well, the Peregrine will be a gamer's best friend. The Peregrine is a glove that connects to your computer with 17 touch points on it. These can be used to have 30 combinations. Each combination can be reprogrammed to represent anything you want it to. Open a program, use a macro, etc. Each combo can be used by tapping the corresponding touch points on the glove using your thumb. The Peregrine is connected to your PC by a USB, which connects to a glove by a pod. But if you need to go get snacks or something, you can just disconnect the magnetic pod from your glove and walk freely. I know what you're thinking. Powerglove. YES. But it's much more comfortable and is activated using touch. It can also be washed in water if you somehow (More like when you eventually) spill soda on it or get Cheeto dust all over it. It's also quite stylish, if your the kind of gamer (like myself) who cares for that.
Fact Sheet TriplePoint, the makers of The Peregrine, have released a fact sheet, shown here. › Over 30 actions available at the touch of a finger |

If You Don't Play a Game Because of Graphics, You're a Bad Person.Category: Ramblings Posted on Jun 02, 2009 Add to Bookmark |

RANT TIME It's time for my first blog-style rant on MMOsite. This time, it's about graphic, for the lack of an offensive non-explict term, "buff." Just pretend that "buff" is as offensive as being called -Insert offensive term here-.
Why do you hate graphics Mr. Warden? My friend, that is a complete misconception of what I've said. I said that you are a bad person if you don't play a game because of bad graphics. I, for one, LOVE advanced graphics, mainly for the fact that it shows that our technology is progressing. Think of Everquest, when it just came out. Remember the graphics? Now think of Aion. It uses CryEngine! Aion is an absolutely beautiful game, but just because it's beautiful, it doesn't make it more fun than any other MMO, like Guild Wars. I believe graphics can help make a game more enticing and realistic, keeping people hooked into a game. But if you only play a game because it's absolutely beautiful, you're a bad person as well.
Graphic Buffs: You're hurting the industry*! *Note: I have no proof of this what-so-ever. I'm either BSing to get your attention, using hyperbole, or trying to get my point across. *Extra note:&n |

Horror MMOs: Possible, or Just Another Dream of Mine?Category: Ramblings Posted on May 27, 2009 Add to Bookmark |

Horror MMOs MMOs come in all flavors; Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Steampunk, Social (Such as Second Life), Post-Apocolyptic, FPS, and more! But a horror MMO, is it possible? Can there actually be a game, with millions of players, that are absolutely TERRIFIED? I sure hope so.
Current Attempts The only attempt I currently know of is Requiem: Bloodymare, and honestly? It just doesn't interest me. I've watched videos. Seen the monsters. Went to the website, registered, and installed it. But never once have I played it. Mainly because the videos didn't scare me. Maybe I should give it a chance, but unless you, the reader, can convince me to, I doubt it will stay installed on my computer for long.
REALLY? Blood + Big Monsters = horror? I don't think so Requiem, I don't think so.
My Ideas on a Horror MMO My first idea was about the monsters. I wanted monsters that were so unbelievably powerful that put up a real fight one on one. It would basically force you to band together with others in order to survive. Next, since monsters would require you to party, most classes would have party buffs that only take effect when in a par |
