From now through June 19th, some very popular MMOs will be on Steam with quite a bit lopped off the price.

Everquest 2, with all expansion packs, is $39.99. But after this great deal, it is $9.99!

Eve Online: Aprocrypha (AKA my current MMO addiction) is 50% off, dropping the price from $14.99 to $7.49. Even though I already own it, I may just buy a copy to be able to gift to someone.

Lineage II, with the full Gracia expansion, is $19.99 usually, but is down to $15.99. Not TOO much off, but is still a good deal in this economy. And the original Lineage is down to $7.99.

City of Heroes: Architect Edition is the same price as Lineage II, which is still a good deal.

Guild Wars Trilogy is 20% off, dropping the price from $49.99 to $39.99. And for a good game with no subscription fees, already a must for me.

On the Fence?

Alright, let me be more clear... Aion is one game that I've been indecisive about for a while. I've never been so indecisive about a game, EVER. I've been contemplating pre-ordering the collector's edition, getting the beta code, and if I don't like it, sell it on eBay or the like. There's two problems with that though. One, I'm broke. Flat out, empy wallet, broke. Second, I'm not even sure if the Collector's Edition, while sealed, would sell on eBay if I decide I don't like the game. So I need your help to decide. I'll start by stating what I know about the game, and then you tell me what you know and your opinion.

Pros

This game, which from the video and screenshots I've seen, is the most beautiful MMO I've ever seen. And being a big fan of the CryEngine series, this is a big plus for me.

The flying system, in theory, is pretty damn cool. I don't know how practical it will be, or how much of a bonus it will be to the game, if at all.

The Collector's Edition also comes with a lot of bonus content and in-game items. It also comes with a beautiful figurine, a soundtrack, and posters.

The WHAT?

The Peregrine. Hopefully, if all goes well, the Peregrine will be a gamer's best friend. The Peregrine is a glove that connects to your computer with 17 touch points on it. These can be used to have 30 combinations. Each combination can be reprogrammed to represent anything you want it to. Open a program, use a macro, etc. Each combo can be used by tapping the corresponding touch points on the glove using your thumb. The Peregrine is connected to your PC by a USB, which connects to a glove by a pod. But if you need to go get snacks or something, you can just disconnect the magnetic pod from your glove and walk freely. I know what you're thinking. Powerglove. YES. But it's much more comfortable and is activated using touch. It can also be washed in water if you somehow (More like when you eventually) spill soda on it or get Cheeto dust all over it. It's also quite stylish, if your the kind of gamer (like myself) who cares for that.

WHAT.

That was my reaction when I first heard about this. And you have heard me correctly. The sequal to the highly popular "Zombie" (term being used quite loosely) Shooter Left 4 Dead is being boycotted. Right after a trailer being released.

WHY??

The game is being boycotted over many reasons. This includes:

• Significant content for L4D1 was promised, and never delivered
  
• Valve put little faith in L4D1 since they almost certainly started working on L4D2 right after release
  
• The fact that L4D2 is nearly identical to L4D1 will decimate the community for both games
  
• The announced date is not nearly enough time to polish content or make significant gameplay changes
  
• The new character designs seem bland and unappealing so far
  
• L4D2 is too colourful to fit in with L4D1's visual aesthetic
  
• The fiddle-based horde music is extremely disliked, though the differently orchestrated music is otherwise welcome
  
• L4D2's release will result in a drop in quality and frequency for L4D1 content, even compared to before
  
• The community has lost faith in Valve's former reputation for commitment to their games post-release

RANT TIME

It's time for my first blog-style rant on MMOsite. This time, it's about graphic, for the lack of an offensive non-explict term, "buff." Just pretend that "buff" is as offensive as being called -Insert offensive term here-.

Why do you hate graphics Mr. Warden?

My friend, that is a complete misconception of what I've said. I said that you are a bad person if you don't play a game because of bad graphics. I, for one, LOVE advanced graphics, mainly for the fact that it shows that our technology is progressing. Think of Everquest, when it just came out. Remember the graphics? Now think of Aion. It uses CryEngine! Aion is an absolutely beautiful game, but just because it's beautiful, it doesn't make it more fun than any other MMO, like Guild Wars. I believe graphics can help make a game more enticing and realistic, keeping people hooked into a game. But if you only play a game because it's absolutely beautiful, you're a bad person as well.
