World of Warcraft China Returns, Like World of Boxcraft

Finally, according to the news, the whole hubbub surrounding World of Warcraft China comes to an end, a one-week closed beta test of WoW has re-launched today, no surprise, you can imagine how millions of anxious Chinese WoW players flooded into every server. As one of the stupendous crowd, I can't tell how I feel, but after a few minutes randomly playing, unexpectly we realize the price of the return of the game. Something has changed.

 

In the former World of Warcraft(CN) operated by The9, we all know it was censored because the undead race showed too much bones. How about now? I'm totally speechless when I notice something even worse happens. Not only the undead bones are covered by muscles but also those skill icons which may contain blood, crania, devil are turned to BOX! You hear me, BOX!

Oh yeah, another box, what should I say?

You tell me what the FUCK is the DIFFERENCE between the two models??

Yeah, it becomes my another reason to rage-quit, Although I am not such a big fan and holic of WoW, I still feel awful, especially when the fucking censorship thing occurs. Today was a mess, maybe it's time for me to walk out of my cell and take a deep breath, see you. Hyuk's out.

Looks like alot of stuff has been replaced with boxes, bags, powders and other harmless stuff.

I also think they made Boxes and such because you really can't say anything against it since there is no bone, no blood etc.

The Forsaken used to be my favorite race, that is, before the censorship (I play CWoW, btw, cuz I live in China), now they're skinny-ass humans with green skin... hurrah. The problem is this: China doesn't use any age-level rating system like ESRB, so any little kid of around 5 or 6 years of age can wander into a game shop and buy WoW and install it onto his/her computer. the CPC (Communist Party of China, I probably shouldn't say too much about them though, cuz they might be tracking what I'm typing so if I type anything bad they'll probably send me to Chinese hell, which is giving me a B+ in school) saw this as a problem and issued a censorship on WoW instead of issuing an age limit. What's really problematic is, Chinese parents in China are just like Chinese parents anywhere else - they won't let their kids play for too long or even let their kids play WoW at all, which means most of the WoW players in China are high schoolers (cuz high schoolers are rebels) or adults. Therefore, the censorship targets less than 10% of the cWoW population. As to why they replaced heads and skeletons with boxes and bags, I have no clue...

I'm the Chinese.The box is not important.The company must chang skeletons and blood to smething else or the wow will not be allowed in China.So they just find something don't have skeletons and blood ,such as boxes.The conpany choose box so that they can retrun WOW as soon as possibile,because these box can be accept in any situation. Some people in the goverment just want achievement in their post,but they are so stupid ,Chinese players love WOW ,they are very angry with it.It's ridiculous.

I'm a Chinese ,all of us do not understand why chinese goverment did it like that,We are very angry about this"boxes" ,I mean not all the chinese unwilling to see the skeletons and blood. It 's bad that there are  some stupid people in our goverment ,but we hate them.

I don't know why box either, maybe it can be explained in this way: the blood, crania, and other devil stuff can be put into boxes??

 Yeah I wonder whyd they be so picky about the things that players look at for only a few seconds a day. China sure has some horrible management.

I think it was some kind of protectionism, Blizzard no wonder is one of the world's most successful game developers and it has won a huge basis of Chinese fans via Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo seriies. No other companies in China can stop Blizzard's expansion (native developers have no better technology than Blizzard, and their games suck) unless Chinese government takes a real action. We all know how stupid it sounds to take action like censoring the gameplay, but it surely delays its "invasion" as long as delaying the world of warcraft, and it is also a force which can help other native companies survive.
