No matter how you try to approach this subject, it's going to cause some type of frustration to people who aren't keen on understanding how the human mind works. There are plenty of people who play "lolicon-style" hentai games and are quite sane. It doesn't enforce said 'players' to go out and sexually assault a minor. While Japan does have a lower age of 'concern' (ergo: there are plenty of underage girls who will, at times, partake in certain activities that they should not), this doesn't entirely mean that it doesn't happen in other countries. And none of the other countries' 'balance' isn't based on hentai loli-con games either.

While I disagree with showing underaged girls naked, I don't take those who are 'drawn' (unless drawn from a real photograph/photographic memory) as child pornography. I haven't any desire to look at any of it, but I feel that everyone should have the right to feel or think as they believe (as long as it doesn't endanger another).

people making articles on this subject realy need to go out and get the correct info. the one about rape games being banned was wrong. this one says rape games are self banned but thats wrong also. the rating company hasnt put any ban on rape eroge. the info from that is by a overactive tbs news sending out false info to the public. 

most of people posting comments have never been to japan or even bother to look a bit about this subject. these moral wannabe police parties have been doing stuff like this for years. but like gamblilng in japan is illegal yet u can still gamble there are always loopholes. and with econimes down like they are the politicans better focus on something else other than interfering with eroge manga/games etc with is a major buisness.

 The japanese population could use some declining. They have way too many people on those little islands out there. I mean its pretty ingenious how they come up with ways to efficiently use what little space they have, but its gotten pretty rediculous the lengths they have to go. When you live in a place that has to offer multi generational deals on a small little apartment (as in, im going to put the down payment on this little studio apartment, but my grandkids are going to have to pay it off so that we can own a home, by which time ill likly be dead after working my @ss off for it) there is a problem.

 The only reason the government is concerned is because they need all the tax money to pay for all the social services the older generation will need as they are retiring, but there isnt enough young people to tax to cover the cost. In the US, the government has similar concerns in reguards to the baby boomers.

I think that in light of the fact that the Japanese population is now declining, the government actually wants to embolden the lives of Japanese men and get more of them to go out and F.U.C.K , instead of shamefully holding their ****s in their hands...

Well this is what i think, Sex games which include children is good and why this is why. If you think many adults who want to engage in child sex are really afraid and fear that they want this, however with games like this they can release their inner feelings, but maybe as they progress through the game they can start to realise that doing this is wrong .

Oh come on.  That is part of their culture.  Maybe we don't understand it that well here, but it's just video games.  We are fine with the most violent, murderous, gory crap in our games, but we wag our fingers and say "Shame shame!" when it comes to sex.  And we try to push our values on other countries.  Are these really "values"?  Is sex so bad?  No, not at all, but violence and killing is.  Why do we accept one but not the other?  Not that I want ANY games banned, it's just we have this stupid double standard in this country, and we try to push our "values" *cough* onto others, and unfortunately succeed sometimes.  There's nothing wrong with sex in games.  Sex is a wonderful, beautiful thing, it's not shameful and dirty.  Where's that Britney Spears guy to say "Leave the sex games alone!"

It seems that another country is putting blame on games. I learn the word 'hentai' 'lolicon' and many other 'kind' word and also I watch many japanese av from this country so I might say that pron in this country is kinda epic and I love it. this ban won't work. the japanese might accept it at first, but expect it to be the launching platform for bans on other video games. video games have been a source of truancy in japan for many people and they will use it as an excuse to establish strict laws on when video games can be released or sold even. the reason japan seems to be "lagging" behind on this is because of the way their government is run. politicians refuse to change until they actually lose an election. i remember the same political party was in control of japan for like what? 50 years? and they never changed and always expected to win the election regardless and it took them a huge political loss before they changed any thing. their plan to "eliminate" child pornography won't work. i believe the age of consent in japan was something like 13 at some point which is why child pornography even makes its way around. just change it to 16 or 18 and you're set. it also doesn't help that the game developers can get around this by just changing the age of all the characters to 16 or 18 and have them look like they're 13 or just put N/A (i'm looking at you tecmo).

Well I hate these games, so I wouldn't be really sad if they were banned but, I think this is simply wrong. I really do not believe games could make someone harm another. If the person is mentally sane, and have knowledge of what is right and whats wrong, he/she would never do something wrong just because of a game. So banning is useless, and unfair with those who like the genre, and will never do anything like rape.
So sad people fail to see those things =/
