in a magazine i read it said some ppl in haiti would make potions and kidnap ppl and make them drink it too make it seem like they were dead like they would loose all body functions for a few hours and the family would get rid of them, once the effects wore of the ppl would go bak to their homes but they're families would make them leave cuz they thought they were dead and had become zombies, then they'd get shunned by the whole village or w/e and the voodoo guy would fck with their lives basically til' they had a mental break down and loose all their will, then they'd turn into real zombies and be worked death like slaves

First - the science is sure there are no zombies at all.

Second - mathematical models can be created for everything that a human can imagine and describe, so there is no wonder that such kind of models emerge.
