Video games have become sleeker, harder, faster, and better to an exponential degree in the last 10 years. This has been mostly awesome, but the increased intensity of games has yielded an echo of similarly intense behavior in those that play the games. Sometimes this behavior goes well beyond throwing one’s controller across the room. At the far end of this spectrum are 10 deaths caused by video games. Quotes from spike.com written by Reverend Danger 7. Everquest Suicide This story is up for some debate. But the fact is that then-21-year-old Shawn Woolley played hours of the online game Everquest before fatally shooting himself while sitting in front of his computer. His mother found him with notes related to the game strewn about the room, but none of them offered specific evidence for his motivation 6. 13-Year-Old Commits WoW Suicide
Xiao Yi was 13 when he jumped from the top of a 24-story building. The note he left behind for his parents was written from the point of view of a video game character. Further, the note detailed his wish to meet three of his gaming friends in the afterlife. His parents asked him, at one point, about |

It was said Women More Hardcore Gamers than Men...Category: Random Posted on 2009-02-18 02:38:54 Add to Bookmark |

it was revealed that the interest in online games has increased significant in women, and they also spend more time gaming. The study was done in the MMO EverQuest II. Why they didn't choose WoW with a wider range of players is unknown. Here is a snip: "Players who played the game with their romantic partners enjoyed the game more and spent more time playing," says Scott Caplan, one of the co-authors of the study and a professor of communication at the University of Delaware. He also noted that the study raises more questions for future research into gender stereotypes and cautioned that their results shouldn't be generalized yet. "Some interesting points out of this is:

Game-focused school for Children comes this fall in NYCCategory: Random Posted on 2009-02-18 12:03:45 Add to Bookmark |

Many kids and even some adults dreamed of a school where the curriculum is all about games. Now that dream is going to be full filled by Quest to Learn in New York by Fall. Quest to Learn is a new school that teaches kids from grade 6 through 12 all the ins and outs of gaming. Quest will try to enhance ways of teaching their students by using digital media, games, online networks, and mobile technologies. Students will also be taught how to utilize and design these tools. Hopefully, this will lead the students to eventually take courses in computer programming, media arts, and game design. Internship and mentorship programs also aim to further the learning experience, while affiliates like the Parsons New School for Design further helps a Quest student prepare for a career in new media. ----------------------------------------------------------------- It sounds cool, however I doubt if the game-focused school will work very well. In my opinion I prefer a more serious and traditional education for kids since they are just from grade 6 ~12. What do you think? Source: tumeroks.com |

Feel free to disprove me. however for some reasons many my friends say they hate J-RPG (it's not like "like or dislike", they said HATE) I don't figure it out, do you know anyone who hate too? Quotes from oxm.co.uk Here are seven ways that Japanese RPGs could change for the better, starting with the most important...

Australia might punish retailers who sell World of WarcraftCategory: Random Posted on 2009-02-04 12:32:28 Add to Bookmark |

In Australia retailers might get penalty if they sell World of Warcraft or other massively multiplayer online games due to the New South Wales Classification Enforcement Act which prohibites publishers and retailers from selling unclassified computer games. Anyone crossing the line will be fined hard ($1100 to $11,000), even a 12 months' imprisonment. The games industry believes online games are legal for sale without having a single player component from classification requirements, however, according to Robert McClelland, the spokeswoman for Federal Attorney-General, "The National Classification Scheme does not distinguish between games based on whether or not they contain a single player component." Not just World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Warhammer Online and Pirates of the Burning Sea are all sold without classification For more information, here is the original article link: |

Old NES games, do you still remember them? Rush's Attack used to be my nightmare when I was a kid, as well as Shadow of the Ninja. I hope the music he plays in this video will help you find your own pieces of your memory.

Female gamers are on a rise, so I'm not surprised with the recent research done by American Association for the Advancement of Science, which said more girls are apparently gaming online nowadays and they are also more hardcore when they are at it than guys.
Rapelay to be honest is boring (if you've played it you konw that) and yes it might make people feel sick. What is Rapelay you may ask, well it is a video game that allows players to stalk and gang rape virtual women - and then force them to have an abortion.
