Square Enix Wins $325K from Korean Final Fantasy Parody

Back in early 2007, Korean popstar Ivy released a music video that looked remarkably like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Square Enix took Korean entertainment production company Fantom and producer Hong Jeong-ho to court.

And in March 2008, a judgment was passed, ruling in Square Enix's favor with a damage award of approximately US$244,000.

The defendants loaded an appeal, and that the Seoul High Court has reached its decision: Fantom and Hong Jeong-ho must pay approximately US$326,000 to Square Enix. [Via Kotaku]

That ugly b1tch cosplays Tifa...omg! It hurts my eyes!!!

The koreans who made this video were stupid enough to copy 90% of the fighting scene to this stupid video. Lmao noobs.

They need to pay more for damaging the image of FF and Tifa. 300k was too little. Damn.

Okay now that I'm done laughing, it's sort of stupid to sue them for that, maybe it's because the song sucks so bad and she can't sing very good :D Seriously, her voice is terrible, and the song blows. Anyway, if they made it more parody like couldn't she have got away with it? Arg her voice hurts my ears, I'd like to see Simon from Idol insulting her.
