As a gay teenager myself, I find the "That's so gay" pretty funny. I don't see anything wrong with it besides the acting like you do care when they say it is just funny they stumble around trying to apologize.

"That's gay" should be kept  allowed and uncensored. Because it helps a lot to detect stupid, frustrated and no-life teenagers.

The word gay is slang for most people when they do say "Thats so gay"  If I say it, I mean as in it's too happy to be happy :D

It's easier to say  the word gay then- "Thats so gamer guy with the blah blah blah"  o.O

Maybe they should cut it down to saying "thats so gamer"?

The campaign kind of loses points with me putting soo many words to make fun of a person who games. Like it's try too hard to make it insulting you know?

The stupidity of people some times amazes me, and this "campaign" is a good example.

Okay I have to disagree it IS  choice. When you have a preference you prefer something else and you CHOOSE to do it. For example I like pizza more than cake so I choose to eat pizza instead it's my Preference. I can't agree with someone saying they were born gay or they were programmed that way, because when you are born you have no preference. You don't even start developing a taste for dating till you reach a certain age. At which point you like what you like. As another example you may prefer Barbies or Action figures, and in truth a boy playing with a barbie may be end up more straight than a kid who likes Action figures. Who knew?

All I'm saying is that saying "it's not a choice" and then saying it's a sexual preference (which it really is) is a contradictory statement. A preference is a choice not a program, and I'm sorry but it's not natures way of crowd control.

As for the word I DO agree that they should just grow a sense of humor and focus on the things that are actually hurting their community. For example people actually killing or beating them, not a slang that was around for such a long time and used in manners to describe things that are generally inanimate. Also one person saying it's okay to say it and then getting mad when someone THEY don't okay it says it is so childish.

Being gay or straight is not a choice. It is not a sexual 'preference' it is a sexual programing. It is genetic no matter how you look at it, and it is nature's way of crowd control in ALL sexually reproducing animals... and yes, humans are animals too. This is the same thing as how "African Americans" (as I would just call them "Americans" since none of them fkers have been to Africa <.<) can call each other "****" in jokes, but even though the word means "extremely ignorant and refusing to learn" it is seen as a completely racist term due to it being used out of context by fking bigots back in the days of slavery (when in fact it was most of the white peope that were REALLY "****s" in the true sense of the word). Now I hear gay people (even some of my friends) call each other "queer" and "faggot" in a joke, when someone NOT gay uses those words then it becomes offensive (?)... I don't mean to my friends who have a sense of humor and are SECURE with themselves, but the rest of the ignorant community that just so happens to be also homosexual.

Well, to sort of jump on this, it's both good and bad. Saying 'That's so gay' can lead to calling eachother faggots and queers as guys usually joke around and swing about their manhood trying to be as straight as possible. I use 'that's so gay' all the time, basically because my roommate and I joke around a lot....for example he'll start humping me randomly and I'll laugh and call him a queer. You can't really stop people joking around with their friends, even it's it sexual or racist terms. It's habit. It's good to have the awareness out that 'other people might be listening' though....if that helps any.

First the campaign against using retard and now this? Honestly... I can understand what's wrong about saying retard, as people don't choose to be, mentally or physically, handicapped.  But these people choose to be homosexual.  If you really don't like people mocking you, calling you gay or other such things then don't be homosexual.  But if you really love being homosexual then who cares what anybody else has to say?  I mean if everyone started mocking me cause I'm straight I wouldn't go crying about it.  It's my preference and my choice, I made it so I deal with it.

IMO, this actually depends btwn the ppl in the conversation. Sometimes in a casual talk, we tend to use it without noticing at all, but there are those who literally use it on others! I mean, I am gay as well, and when ppl joke around with me on this topic, I just let it slide!

Look, this is just like calling your friend a 'spic, ****, ****, wetback, tojo, 'gook, etc. If you're taking offense to use of the word gay, you need to remove the phallic-shaped stick from your ass for two secs and wrap your head around the fact that keeping people from using such slang isn't going to keep them from abusing you or picking on you if you *are*.

You don't see people getting up in arms over the use of the word "dumb", which was traditionally used to refer to people who were mute. As a matter of fact, the official definition of the word means something along the lines of being unable to speak.

Also, if you think it's okay for you to use the same type of slang or terminology with your own friends because you're gay then that makes you a fuckin' hypocrit and you've absolutely no right to **** about the shit. Homosexuality or no homosexuality, man the hell up and take a real stand, not some pansy ass petition--that won't do a damn thing.

 we often use that term on straight friends who do gay stuff, as a joke. I cant see anything offending about it. Gay people emerged in this world and wanted to be officialy recognized, so pointing something they usually do is offending? If you can't handle that then straight up, wtf.

there is no such word sentense in russian language at all. i dont use it. yes gay are like old people u can judge them just because they old or gay , but people like to go around and say wow thats old game or old movie , same here... Its all about how ur family raise and what ur parents teach u.

I fully support this campaign. Most people don't realize how hard gay, lesbian, and transgender people have it. They're probably the group of people who gets discriminated against the most these days.

I've never experienced problems with that kind of thing, I even say that stuff myself. Guess it's just a stupid habit, in a sense I do hate saying those things because.. to be honest... it's stupid. But there are people who don't get to take it lightly, and it can cause problems. I agree with this campaign being a positive idea. People really need to stop saying these things u___u

That's a very good campaign. It has also swapped over to the german language, it's getting annoying!

I never liked people who say "That's so gay!" for something they think it's stupid. Just say it's stupid, period.

If you're not homophobe and don't want to get treated like one, then stop it, it makes no sense then anyway.

not everyone who says thats so gay is a homophobe it might of been created by homophobes but it does't mean you are one if you say it i for one have said it alot and while saying it ive never harbored any hate or prejudice against any one of a diffrent sexual orientation to my own.
i admit if i was gay and very sensitive about it or self conscience and shy id feel offended il be sure to say thats so straight next time but people will probably think im weird or making a postive comment  =3

Don't Contribute to the problem. And i know, that people won't want to be included in someones Suicide letter as a contriutor to their Suicide.
