How to avoid being victimized by snobs in your game.

Category: Default Game: Default Posted on Oct 01, 2009 12:43 pm

I've seen quite a few articles that talk about snobby, eliteist assholes that treat others like shit. The issue is piling up on the great MMO industry so i want to say a few things about the topic myself.

First off, there WILL ALWAYS be assholes in an MMO. No matter which one you play, they will be forever there, like a stalker that watches you while you jerk off in bed. They seem to follow you and everywhere you turn, BAM! Another insult hits your face.

The eliteists are forever "pro" to the rest of society. They are better than everybody else. Including their fellow pros. And to top it off, about a quarter of them actually do have the skill to prove it. The others, they just act the part to make themselves feel better, because they know that in real life they are nothing, they were nothing, and they will become the FHoA, the Future Hobos of America, sitting on their ass waiting for you to be the next person that they can drag into a dark alley and fuck until it hurts.

Or you might encounter the other race of assholes, the beggars, the scammers, and the spammers.

Ugh. These guys never shut up. They cry, beg, and spam your chat box until you fall in defeat and hand over your most pro items. Then they give you the tail end of their ass and dance away, leaving you absolutely crushed by your surrender to some fucker who thinks he's so cool to scam hard working players out of their hard-earned shit.

Since I hate these guys myself, I will say a few "Tactics" that personally i find very effective.

For those elite high leveled super-pros, the best way to get them off your back, spamming N00B in your box, is to use your superior skillz and whip their ass halfway to China. Yes, im talking to YOU, you poor, pathetic player. I know you have the skillz, why don't you put them to good use booting some good ole l33t ass?

If you can't do this, then simply get out of the situation. By get out, i mean a total lockdown. Get into a dungeon/stage, PvP somebody, do SOMETHING so you can get away from the merciless beatdown of words. If possible, block him/her.

If you're staring at some poor pitiful guy grabbing at your legs for some cash(read: beggar), well, this is a tough one, because you don't know if he's legit or not. Generally, these bastards are just out looking to fuck some dumb idiot up for some hard cash and maybe a few pro items on the side. DON'T BECOME THAT IDIOT. Just walk away, and ignore him. He will give up...hopefully. Or you can do this ^_^: Trade him, show him a pile of gold, then when he tries to confirm it, quickly take out the gold and finish up the trade. If you're good, he'll expect a huge pile in his invent, and when he sees that you scammed, well not really scammed, just hurt his poor wittle feewingz, he'll start OMFGWTFUFUCKINGASSHOLESCAMMER with you, giving you some time to run, or if you want you can kick his ass for good measure.

Scammers are the easiest to avoid. They generally live a migrant life, living from one scam to the next. Before you trade, ask around if the guy's a good trader. Take a peek on the forums to check for any scammer blacklists. If he checks out, get out that gold, cuz you're about to get a great deal. If he's a little shady, best to gtfo quick before YOU are his next victim.

And finally, the spammers. These scum, oops i mean peoples, are the bane of society. They spend their lives creating autochat bots and setting them loose in an otherwise tranquil and peaceable game to rage along destroying everything in their cursed paths with massive lines of superspam.

You can't really AVOID these guys, your only hope is to get out of the area. FAST. Watching the chat scroll at Bullet Train speed will make you rip out your hair and eventually land you in a mental hospital, where EVERYBODY is either suicidal, insane, or just plain ODD, jk and no offense to anybody who really is mental :(

The MMO society is crumbling under the weight of these overweighted fuckers who sit around all day making their skillz pro, begging for shit, scamming your ass, or just making your eyes roll with their ability to make the chat screen roll faster than a snowball falling downhill. The only way these evil, sick bastards will be extinguished is if we all give them a good ole STFU AND GTFO.

Its effective, but honestly its a bad tactic because you're just going to piss somebody off. And what happens if that spammer person has a seriously high leveled main? Or has a really powerful friend?

God, i really need to stop pissing my fellow PvPers off xD

It's actually quite fun to repeat back each and every word that players like these say, I actually manage to shut them up this way. Hehe.  :D

It happens... to be honested, It fired me up even more, whenever I play GunZ, I always get kids not fully knowing the concepts of war, complain and say stuff like 'sprayer' and 'cheap'. It only makes me do the things alot more, that annoy them.

Sometimes I have to think like a director, and ask myself  why the developers put items and other content in the game and sometimes find myself telling other users in the room to shut up and stop being a wussy, and if to complain to the hosting company if they have a problem.

The community makes the game and sometimes the hosting sites themselves are sick of spammers and other anti socail aspects of the game aswell. It's interesting to note that some users are teens who come home from school and enter the real world thru MMO.

The chat boxes are like chat rooms back in 1998, just log onto the browser and enter a 'room', luckyly some games allow you to switch this off, however I think developers should complete remove this thou, maybe in the future, when Voice chat becomes PvP between players, like they're currently doing with some console FPS with Voice-mic.

However your right, it's best to ignore these players on the whole and sometimes use their energy to show them what's more better. Maybe they need a rolemodel in MMOs. Who knows.

Thats exactly what I do. Whenever I pvp on lunia, i get people complaining about either my healing or my "spamming."
And then i just do it that much more to annoy the hell out of them.

Voice chat is the future. ^_^ unless you're pvping solo, vc is gonna give u more tactical advantages.
