Predictions were either falling short or a real bullseye in this second day of Ragnarok Online World Championships 2008 (RWC). Many expect Thailand or Korea to shoot straight up to the top, but the spectators of the home country, Philippines, still have high hopes on their team. Having led the race against Germany and Japan, the other teams were impressed with Philippines' unorthodox and swift strategy. Thailand's aggressive maneuvers sent many spectators around the world shivering, and ultimately, the question was asked, "Who will be this year's victor?" The first match was between Korea and USA. Team Korea proved to the world that they are still one of the undisputed in terms of gaming, gaining 2 straight quick wins against their western adversaries. Team USA was swept out in both rounds, and Korea advances into the semi-finals in a breath's moment. The second match was also a swift battle. Tensions rise as LevelUp! Live 2008 opening ceremonies were held this morning, October 18, 2008. The World Trade Center located at the heart of Pasay City in the Philippines was packed with countless spectators eager to watch another online tournament history in the making. Ragnarok Online World Championships 2008 (RWC) is one of the main highlights of this two-day gaming event. Teams from around the globe, champions in their home countries, vie for the glory of being the world champions in this year's tournament. After much formalities during the opening ceremonies, LevelUp! Philippines's gameboss Ben Colayco and Ragnarok Online's representative Yoon Seok Kang officially announce the RWC open. Matchups were announced early on in the event's show. There were six matches scheduled for this day, to determine who will take the top slots for tomorrow's semi-finals and final rounds. October 18, 2008 - World Trade Center, Pasay City, Philippines LevelUp! Games Philippines held its annual event, LevelUp! (LU) Live 2008 at the World Trade Center. LU Live is a two-day celebration that showcases the games of the one of the biggest gaming publishers in the Philippines. The event will also house one of the biggest online tournaments, the Ragnarok Online World Championships (RWC) 2008. All important tournaments aside, players and spectators were eager to confirm the rumors spreading around the venue. Were there other games LevelUp! will distribute aside from Ragnarok Online 2? If so, what were these games? The crowd's attention was diverted to the first batch of RWC match-ups. At exactly 2:30pm, the CEO of LevelUp! Games, Jane Walker, proceeds up to the stage to make an important announcement. Trailers were shown, announcing the arrival of three new games by LevelUp! soon in the Philippines.
