 Blizzard Entertainment's Rob Pardo - Image 1

Blizzard apparently has yet another project in the works, and so their game portfolio is not just limited to the big three we know today. Senior vice president Rob Pardo of Blizzard claimed in a recent interview with German news site OnlineWelten that there was another "unknown" game cooking in their kitchen.

Before the interview, we all heard that Blizzard was looking for new blood to help them on a mystery next-generation MMO project. This project is the same unannounced game that Pardo said existed. No other details on the project were divulged, nor were any hints aggressively milked.

On that note, however, the senior VP did clue in to Blizzard's plans to revamp Blizzard's premier online multiplayer service, Battle.net, which will result in the inclusions of new features. Though asked about future costs in utilizing the service, Pardo did not care to comment if the new features would incur additional costs on the players' part.

Now here's the kicker: Blizzard hopes to unveil their ideas for expanding Battle.net's feature list by the time they implement StarCraft II Beta. This officially confirms the rumors that a Beta will be conducted to test the real-ti

Swig and Toss - Image 1 Swig and Toss - Image 2

Turbine Inc. recently sent out a press release announcing the release of a new mini-game for their Mines of Moria website. It might not be for the upcoming expansion to The Lord of the Rings Online, but we've tried it, and it's fun nevertheless.

The game, called Swig and Toss is an axe-throwing competition that adds a bit of drinking and wagering into the mix to make things more interesting. The game last ten rounds, and you basically try to get as high a score as possible by wagering your gold coins. You can drink some ale, which will allow you to wager more money (because you're drunk and probably not thinking straight) and at the same time impair your ability to aim properly.

The game's quite tough when you've had a bit to drink, but if you can time everything just right, you should be able to hit the bullseye regardless of how much you drink. You can check out the new minigame by visiting the website below. In the meantime, enjoy these pictures we have of the minigame in question!

Warhammer forbidden - Scenarios 101: Grovod Caverns and Reikland Hills - Image 1The tier four Empire vs. Chaos Scenarios are currently the focus of our update on EA Mythic's upcoming MMO, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Details have been revealed on the Grovod Caverns and the Reikland Hills.

The Grovod Caverns is a 12 vs. 12 scenario which can be accessed by players between the levels of 23 and 40. In essence, this particular scenario features mechanics of Capture The Flag with a few twists and turns. There are going to be five entrances and exits. Players will have to maneuver though the map in a fast manner in order to succeed.

Players who are between the levels 23 and 40 can use the 18 vs. 18 scenario, namely the Reikland Hills. The premise of this is pretty much like King of the Hill. Players will have to capture various locations and defend it until time runs out. Basically, it's either you conquer or you defend different areas to achieve victory.

The devs have also included more nitty-gritty details on the two scenarios. You can read more on them by visiting the link below. Just be sure to come back to this space for more updates and news on the game.

Champions forbidden's Ask Cryptic update: Of powers, costumes, and 'in-house' resource - Image 1Questions have been sent by players. Questions have been answered by the devs themselves. The latest update on Champions Online's Ask Cryptic covers concerns regarding hero powers, costumes, and in-game content.

Shofu was curious as to how powers can affect hero "archetypes" in the game. Will specific powers have more effect with certain pre-set character builds? According to Arkayne, "archetype" abilities reveal just what the devs are aiming at. Some powers will benefit from it, some won't.

Furthermore, players have the option of minimizing or maximizing their powers early on the game. This will help them get used to the game's system. The devs will be employing power advantages and limitations once players get used to the MMO.

As for the costumes, expect a lot of customization when the costume pieces are rolled out. Some of the notable items are beast-men heads (from cats to wolves), insect heads with varying mandibles and antennae, and other monstrous head pieces.

Also, players will be able to maximize their characters in terms of looks. Avatars can have a "chunky" look but no so much like that of the Blob.

Lastly, Cryptic Studios is looking at putt

Warhammer forbidden - The Fall of Karak Eight Peaks art by Alex Boyd - Image 1

The picture above depicts a scene from the fall of Karak Eight Peaks in EA Mythic's upcoming MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. This artwork was made by none other than Alex Boyd, a Games Workshop painter who's done a lot of art for the MMO.

What's really interesting about it is that most of the visual elements found on it reveals more about the MMO's lore. As you can see, the greenskin horde is trying to take over one of the mightiest strongholds of the dwarves. They were successful in doing so, signaling the defeat of the proud dwarves.

The devs have noted The Fall of Karak Eight Peaks artwork will be used in the future as promotional material in various forms such as posters, wallpapers, and more. That's about it for our update on Warhammer Online. Check out this space for more news on the game.

Voyage Century forbidden brings the city-building update rules - Image 1

Here's a heads up for all of you who play IGG's Voyage Century Online. There's a news update relating to the rules for the upcoming city-building system update.

Basically, guild members can all participate in the city-building, though the actual building process and leveling of a city is determined by the leader or vice leader of a guild. All guild members have to do is find the construction minister and pay a leveling fund, as well as bring some needed equipment to level up the port. Once the port is ready to level up, leaders or vice-leaders can then increase the level of the port, granting the port a development point.

Before you start thinking about hyper-levelling your ports, you might want to remember one last rule the devs have put in place. This is a cooling time rule, which means that newly-developed ports can't level up until a certain length of time has passed. Crafty, right?

In any event, you may want to stock up on the essentials so you can go grinding for items needed to level up your port in preparation for the rush of guild members who'll be trying to do the same once the update goes live. We wish you the best of luck though, as you set sail for bountiful plund

The Arena of Death in Angels forbidden - Image 1If you've been keeping tabs on the recent Angels Online events, you've probably come across Internet Gaming Gate's (IGG's) Weekend Event Explosion.

One of the events listed there is  Gladiator 2, which IGG recently featured. In Gladiator 2, teams of Angels from levels 41-50 duked it out amongst themselves in an Arena of Death.

The Arena was under Lucifer's spell, so Angels were only able to participate as spirits. After an initial registration, the contestants were then teleported to the Arena and locked inside for the duration of the free-for-all.

The objective of the event was simple: KO the opposing teams' leaders in order to advance to the next round. The team that managed to to hold out till the end was crowned Champion. In the even that two teams managed to make it to the final round, the winner was decided by a couple of simultaneous boss fights - the first team that beat their respective boss was the winner.

IGG's recent Angels Online Gladiator 2 event ran from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. yesterday, April 7th on Haniel and from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Nisroc. The leaders of the champion teams were given the choice of a Fiery Axe, Rainbow Axe or Splash Slingshot as prizes
