Final Fantasy 11: Details for next version update unveiled - Image 1

While it may be a while before Square Enix can top Final Fantasy 11's current Wings of the Goddess expansion, that doesn't mean they won't keep the game polished and fresh. The devs are announcing that FF11's next version update is expected to arrive by early September.

At the moment, this update is expected to continue the episodic nation quests for the Wings of the Goddess expansion. It is also expected to implement several battle-related tweaks and additions, as well as make adjustments to fellows and Campaign.

Keep note that this is just an initial announcement, with more details regarding Square Enix's planned changes to emerge in the near future. Visit us again in case we receive any more word regarding this matter.

Age of Conan - Image 1Let me tell you of a friend of mine, Drenai, who rolled a barbarian in Funcom's Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. When the July 17 patch came in, the slower attack speed really took away quite a bit of his enjoyment of the game.

He said that he rolled a Reaver barbarian because they were supposed to be fast attacking characters, and this wasn't what he signed up for. Well, here's some good news for him and the rest of those who feel the same way. It is a bug and will be fixed.

On the testlive server forums, Svein Erik "Sharum" Jenset, Striketeam Lead: BCC Design, gave the gamers an update on this. Apparently, the tooltip claiming that the attack speed is 2.0 seconds on many weapons is "bugged and reports erroneously". In addition, he also pointed out that the data for different weapons in both the TestLive and Live servers are corrupted:

TestLive data: 1HE, 1HB, 1HE/B+Dagger, 1HE/B+1HE/B, Dagger+Dagger, Unarmed and Unarmed+1HE/B/Dagger data is corrupted for both Male and Female characters. A fix for this is on its way and should hopefully be patched to TestLive tomorrow or the day after.

Live data: Male 1HE data and Female 1HB data is partially corrupted. I'm

City of Heroes and City of Villains merge - Image 1

The Rogue Isles and Paragon City are finally going to get the chance to coexist. We've just learned that NCsoft has completed the merging of City of Heroes and City of Villains, creating one whole game from the two halves.

Current subscribers to either game will now have access to all the features of both games, and copies of City of Heroes or City of Villains sold will now grant access to the Heroes and Villains experience. This also means that those who have City of Heroes can now try out the base-building functions found in City of Villains.

“In setting the stage for our upcoming plans for the IP, we felt the time was right to truly consolidate the City of Heroes and City of Villains universe,” notes Brian Clayton, General Manager and Executive Producer. He adds,

We have removed all restrictions that were created when City of Villains launched in order to make way for some really cool content and features we have in the pipeline. This is an evolution of the IP that lays the foundation for what’s to come.

NCsoft's unification of the City of  games paves the way for new improvements to the game, including Improvements to Supergroup Bases and raids, an

Sad news makes greenskins sad - Image 1Some saddening news today for Warhammer Online fans. We've just learned via an interview on MMORPG.com that four classes and four racial capital cities have been removed from the game.

(formerly In an interview with MMORPG.com, Mark Jacobs, the VP and General Manager of Mythic EntertainmentEA Mythic), announced the news and explained the situation of the company to the public. To put it simply, certain sacrifices had to be made for the game in time to come out at its fighting best at launch, and so the company chose to remove the things that weren't working well at present.

The classes being removed from the game are the Choppa (Greenskin), Blackguard (Dark Elf), Hammerer (Dwarf), and Knight of the Blazing Sun (Empire), essentially two tanking classes and two melee DPS classes. Remarks Jacobs,

Of all of the news in this interview, this is the worst. Having to cut these guys out, even though it’s the right decision, I am really sorry that we have to do it. I truly am. I don’t like going to the guys and telling them ‘hey sorry, we’ve got to cut these guys out. They’re just not good enough but that was what we had to do.'

As for the racial capital citi

 Blizzard Entertainment's Rob Pardo - Image 1

Blizzard apparently has yet another project in the works, and so their game portfolio is not just limited to the big three we know today. Senior vice president Rob Pardo of Blizzard claimed in a recent interview with German news site OnlineWelten that there was another "unknown" game cooking in their kitchen.

Before the interview, we all heard that Blizzard was looking for new blood to help them on a mystery next-generation MMO project. This project is the same unannounced game that Pardo said existed. No other details on the project were divulged, nor were any hints aggressively milked.

On that note, however, the senior VP did clue in to Blizzard's plans to revamp Blizzard's premier online multiplayer service, Battle.net, which will result in the inclusions of new features. Though asked about future costs in utilizing the service, Pardo did not care to comment if the new features would incur additional costs on the players' part.

Now here's the kicker: Blizzard hopes to unveil their ideas for expanding Battle.net's feature list by the time they implement StarCraft II Beta. This officially confirms the rumors that a Beta will be conducted to test the real-ti
