What can be improved on games?

Category: Default Game: Default Posted on Aug 07, 2009 2:27 pm

Hello again,

I've accidentaly deleted my last article where I said I was getting older and the games didn't appeal to me as much as before. So here is another article where I'll try to express some ideas Ihave to change this scenario.

Let's start:

Level based games:

Well, i've thought a lot about it and this seens to be the main reason why games are becoming boring. I do love to level... the feeling of getting to the end of that EXP bar and see all the flashy stuff that happens... but ... with levels comes........? That's right...

GRINDING!!!

I could'nt think a level based game without grinding... wich sucks... so, the only logical solution to me was changing the system ... wich I don't think the companys are up too..... but that's another problem....

Another thing that sucks on level based games is...

PVP!

Let's face it... with equipment resticted by level, skill points gained by...level... pvp becomes very unfair... put a 3 level difference between the characters and you'll probly have a massacre....

Another thing.... monsters separated by level and area .... that really turns me off.... like u can draw a line in the map and separate them.... around cities we have passive low level monsters and as u make ur way through the story, the quests will send you to the next areas filled with monster of your level... isn't that GREAT?!?! F*** NO!!!!!!

Atributes gained by class

Some games don't allow players to pick where they wanna spend their atributes when they level, wich sucks... cause everyone character is the same save for the equipment... and because everyone wants to be equiped with those mighty shiny artifacts... at the end.... what u have?? Yay... the only difference between 2 chars of the same class is their appearance (in some games not even that) ... So... there will never be individuality on those games... u can't ever make a strong magician or an inteligent warrior... (no that it would help.. but still it should be a choice...)

Economy

Most of the games don't have a balanced economy. Most of the games don't even have a decent crafting system or some kind of working class to make the economic system interesting... and if its F2P we still have the problem with the virtual stores that basicaly ruins any game's economy...

Well imho, those 3 topics are the main reason why I am getting bored from playing MMOs... I have a lot more to write and plenty ideas to share.. but that would make my article long :P

Feel free to disagree folks

Cya!!
