Kill Stealing: love it or hate it
As we all know Player killing in mmos has been a popular addition and many players love it while others hates it. Then game developers notices that Pking has become a problem to those "I hate to die players". To solve that, they gave them what is called a "Safe Mode", where it requires them to be a certain level or have "safe zones" in the games where players cannot kill another player in certain areas. Soon, the player that killed another player may get certain disadvantages and may stick out more in the crowd by giving them red names etc and become easily targeted by other players in the game. But how can we solve the problem of Kill stealing in mmos?
Kill Stealing. If you don't know what that means... (I'm sure all you do) it is when another player attacks the monster you are attacking and they get the credit. Now some games created solutions for that such as, "Most Damage dealt" and "Who ever hits first". But yet it still happens. This is when the player killing comes at the top, some guy steal your mob? you steal his experience. (Ha I wish.) But killing the other player sometimes cannot solve the problem since he will bring friends, has a higher level to come own you, or he can kill you himself and both of you won't end up grinding in the end unless one gives up. I know that some of you will like that challenge while others just want to be left alone minding their own buisness. We all just want to have fun, but if some person comes and takes your kills...its wrong to do that especially when there are ton of the same monsters out there. So how can we solve such a problem? Game developers has all these monster rules setup but they can't do anything about it, GMs cannot ban Ksers because they ain't breaking any rules. So what can we players do about? We can't magically ban the guy because he is taking our mobs. The best way to avoid it is changing channels/servers, party with the Kser as painful as it is(atleast your getting experience), or...kill him.
I know that kill stealing is one of those reasons why players quits games but not every mob out there is yours and there will always be players out there that would love to piss you off by delivering that final hit. I personally kill steal but never continuesly and I often say "I'm sorry " if I do and I'll move to another area.
In these times, kill stealing is just a part of gaming, love it or hate it.

I don't mind when they killsteal my kills. As long as there not a bot. and CTRL-ALT-DEL R0cks!
i will just PK them if they touch my mobs lol . BTW , nice comic
Yes Seizaku there are many who wanna ks for the lulz, but by all means if anyone wants to help me kill my tapped mob they may go ahead without even asking I wouldnt be one bit ruffled. Because thats exactly how WoW players get power leveled, to have a high level player attack or one-shot a mob that i'm fighting. Even when players are at the max level no actual ks-ing happens, which you'l probably only understand when you're a high level player in WoW.
Not always Invasion, there are people who do that "just for the lulz" and won't care about it since, in the end, they're not losing anything. It may help to prevent part of the cases but not all of them.
I think the best way is to fight Kser is to take screenshots, then try to talk with the kser and if that don't work then send the screenshot to the company responsible for the game. If the game admins and the company are worth something, the guy will get either suspended or even banned.
Learn from WoW. The first player to damage a mob taps it, turning it grey towards other players. Anyone trying to ks only helps you to kill it, and you recieve exp but they dont. Also for high level players who go to low level areas and try to kill everything they actually get less or no exp because of the level gap. For the best rate of exp players will have to kill mobs close to their level, those that have real potential to kill you because they are not overwhelmingly inferior. Thus, it effectively prevents botting. So you see how even small details to the game can easily eliminate problems persistent in most mmorpgs.
I hate KSer totally, and when I say them to stop KSing it usually goes "I wanted to help you". Like I need fucking help. XD
I think best anit-KS system would be that if one player already attacks a mob, no one else can attack it except party members or guild members.
But until then I keep switching channels and looking for places that are not utterly crowded.
lol nice comic
too many Kser can effect a game's community
personally, I hate ksers too. But I will defend myself if the kser doesnt leave.
In most of games, u get the drops if u did highest dmg on the mob.
But...quit game if u got ksed.....SUCK IT UP, WUSS! =_=" FIGHT BACK!!!!
