turns out as a major disappointment !? Do you remember the beginning of 2006 and its big press announcement of 5 major game developments in the MMOVSG area ? Well, for most of these games the scheduled release time is up ! 1) Spend The Night This game was a really promising candidate, its production suspend was already announced April 2006 due to funding issues and therefore a very early disappointment. 2) Naughty America The Game There's no progress on the game homepage, even the entry page still titles "coming fall 2006". That's not very promising, plain-spoken |

Although I write an advice column, sometimes I need an outsiders opinion when it comes to matters of the heart. When these occasions arise I turn to Monstar. Why you ask? Because the fucker has an entourage of hot chicks 24/7! The problem I have been having is that as soon as I fall asleep they steal all my pills and cash and buy purses. I?m not alone in my suffering. but that doesn?t make me feel better. Well naturally I followed the tried and true way for a journalist to get some ass, I interviewed her about something she is passionate about...World Of War Craft. What server do you play? |

Professor: These games really suck in players So-called massively multiplayer online role-playing games, or MMORPGs, have become a huge phenomenon in the game world in the last five years. The largest, "World of Warcraft," has more than 9 million players. The study by Joshua Smyth, a Syracuse University psychology professor, says one reason for their success is they really suck in players. Smyth divided 100 student volunteers randomly into four groups. One got tokens to play at a local arcade, a second played the adventure game "Gauntlet: Dark Legacy" on a Sony Corp. PlayStation 2 console and the third played role-playing game "Diablo II" on computers. Only the fourth group, which played MMORPG "Dark Age of Camelot," also on computers, had online interaction. After a month, the MMORPG pl |

BLOG - Big businesses are increasingly acknowledging the benefits gaming can play on their staff and organizations. The growing role games are playing in the lives of so many people is leading companies to formulate strategies aimed at harnessing the skills and familiarity employees have with virtual environments in order to benefit their organizations.
According to the BBC, academics and researchers say that the organizational skills required to run team games or coordinate a 40 person raid in a virtual world can be highly beneficial in the workplace.
"It's about harnessing that ability to play to get work done," says IBM’s Ian Hughes.
Dr Byron Reeves, a professor at Stanford University who has formed a company called Seriosity that applies game elements to workplaces, says that companies are more than willing to look at different methods for improving the functionality of their workforces.
Seriosity is currently working with a handful of Fortune 500 companies, and one program being run adds a virtual currency element to e-mail to help people prioritize messages and avoid information overload.
"The whole idea here is to get the objectives of the individual players aligned with th |

Most aspiring porn stars come to porn valley from far off places like Florida, the farms of the Mid-West or even from Los Angeles but not too many come from the barren wilderness of Alaska. Meet Mia Rose, a 19 year old porn star with an appetite for sex as large as her home state is big. Breaking into the business of porn with her older sister Ava Rose, Mia's catalog of DVDs is small but growing by the day. In this Interview with XRentDVD's Big D, Mia discusses the challenges of moving from a small town in Alaska to Los Angeles, how her approach to sex is different than her sister and why she has been to the beach but never swam in the ocean.

Codemasters' sci-fi title RF Online is the publisher's second MMO that it will be offering for free in Europe and North America. In late 2006, Codemasters announced that its fantasy MMO ArchLord would be going the free-to-play route. A number of online companies have been moving towards the free-to-download/play model in an effort to attract a wider audience in a market that's dominated by World of Warcraft. NCsoft's Dungeon Runners is also a free experience, as is SOE's Free Realms and the entire Acclaim lineup. Typically, such free MMOs are supported by microtransactions, subscriptions for "enhanced" gameplay and advertising. |

Pachter: Ubisoft To See $66 Million In U.S. Q2 SalesCategory: Default Posted on 2007-10-17 02:32:31 Add to Bookmark |

Ahead of Ubisoft's Q2 results expected October 23rd, Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter has predicted sales ahead of consensus estimates of €112 million ($158.9 million) and said the company's share price should rise with continued success of the Nintendo DS. Pachter says that based on the last two months of NPD results, September should see Ubisoft bringing in $66 million in U.S. sales, up from $51 million the year prior. He also predicts that the company will raise its guidance for fiscal 2008, and that Wedbush has adjusted its own Q3 and Q4 estimates as Brother In Arms: Hell's Highway gets lifted into Q3, but is maintaining "conservative" yearly sales estimates of €825 million ($1.17 billion). Finally, says Pachter, "We expect continued strong sales of Nintendo Wii and DS hardware to provide a near term catalyst for Ubisoft share price appreciation. We believe that the company’s lineup of casual games will benefit from strong DS sales, and will position it to deliver upside to consensus revenue and earnings estimates for FY:08."
