I have noticed something in MMOSite. There is a topic that is rather popular, but yet, it has nothing related to MMOs. Or games.

Yup, it is the topic on love, and girl friends.

Curious, I went through them, and they do range the gamut of topics! From a fustrated man seeking revenge on the general female sex, to a lonely man having an imaginary girl friend, to even, a list of traits a guy would like!

Well to those guys who are feeling lonely and frustated, let me give you a few pointers which perhaps, might get you a female companion.

Get out more

Unable to find a related picture, here is a random pretty girl that you might meet if you left your home!

Yup, mom and dad was right about this one. Stop playing so much games, and get out of your house once in a while. Reason behind this? You are simply not going to meet many, if any, girls other then your mom and sisters if you stayed in your room all day.

Hang out with your circle of friends, get new friends and into new circles. Everytime you do so, you might just meet that girl that you would like to spend more time with.

And if that doesn't work out, you would have more friends, nothing wrong with that.

Yes, you do hear about romances blossoming over games, case in point, I had a friend who just got married to one of her guildies just a few weeks ago, but hey, such things don't happen every day, and chances are, they are not going to happen to you.

Review Your Expectations

Seriously, are they too high? Are you expecting to get that TV Star (yes, I will always have a soft spot for Felicia Chin in Singapore), or model? Or perhaps, you expect your girl to play games?

Do not throw all your expectations away of course, or you would only get frustrated, but at the same time, hey, if there is a girl that you would like save a few missing/unliked traits, maybe you might want to consider if those traits are that necessary/hated in the first place.

Persistence

No, please, do not bug that girl who said "No" to you for the 100th time. Persistence to keep going even if you had a failed relationship, or 6. Giving up will do you no good.

If you like a girl, and she declines your proposal to be more then friends, well, perhaps you might want to see if you can change yourself before you ask her again. The trick here, is to know when to persist, and when to give up.

Be Alert

You might have girls liking you, but you are just not aware. Girls are generally more subtle when they want to show that they like you. They usually don't grab your hand, make you bentos and stright up ask if you like or love them.

I personally have had girls like me, and I just didn't realize it until it was too late. Some I didn't feel much because I either had no interest with them or had a girlfriend already in the first place. But there sure are some where I only found eventually which made me feel well, depressed.

Be Confident

Nothing attracts a woman like a confident man. Like how a confident girl attracts a man. For women, they want their men to at least seem like they could rely on in times of need. For men, or me personally at least, I would like to think that my girl can survive in the world and know what to do instead of relying on me to do every single thing.  Unless, of course, you prefer them to be fawning on you all day and night. Which gets very irritating after a while, I assure you.

I have to point out that you shouldn't be too over-confident though. I sometimes act over-confident for laughs, but there is a fine line between being humorous and a douche, so well, steer clear from being the later yeah?

Look In The Mirror

Observe how you look, and accept how you look. I would wager you don't look like Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp or even Micheal Jackson pre-op, because I sure as hell don't. And I am one good looking guy. I keed.

But yes, while we were taught that "being yourself is cool" when we were young, well, obviously, they didn't take into account the really long unkempt hair and beard.

Make yourself look presentable. Get a haircut, with a style that fits you. Don't go crazy though, remember, you want to look normal. Shave as well, if you wish to style your goatee, by all means, but again, remember, don't go crazy.

Look at your attire as well! Nothing beats the tried and true t-shirt and jeans combo for a casual outfit. Feel free to find "your color", the color which suits you best, and wear that for your top.

Fact: Shirts with explicit/suggestive text tend not to appeal to women, so stay away from those.

You don't need to look good to attract women, as it really is all about your personality, how you carry yourself, and the general "vibe" you give out. Dressing well eliminates a number of reasons why the girl should just ignore you.

So there you have it, a few tips from me to you. I hope I have helped, even if just a little. If anything, you will look to be a more confident, normal guy in the eyes of society, which would make it just a little easier for you to get that girl of your dreams!
