[BDass]Cora Spiritualist Initial Class

Cora Spiritualist Initial Class

As a spiritualist initial class you are all about casting spells and using force. Only with this initial class or cross-classing into the spiritualist tree will you have access to all tiers of force reavers: Basic, Expert, Elite, and eventually Master(when it's eventually implemented). Force Reavers are split into 5 "elements": Dark, Fire(and light), Water(and ice), Earth(and poison), and Wind(and electricity).

Equipment
Your staff is very important. It is the primary factor in determining what base damage your damage spells will do. This is reflected in the Force Attack statistic in the staff description. You can only cast damage spells with a staff equipped, but you can cast buffs and debuffs regardless of your equipped weapon (or even mining tool).

Force armor provides you with a bonus to your force attack, bonus FP, and allows you to cast your spells from farther away. It has very good defense, just slightly lower than closerange armor.

Closerange armor will give you a slight boost to defense over force armor, but you'll find that in higher levels Rangedskill armor is more effective. The accuracy bonus is useless to you in casting spells.

Rangeskill armor will give you increased run speed, as well as elemental resistance bonuses. This is critical in later levels where many mobs do elemental damage, and can usually offset the disadvantage of reduced defense this armor provides.

Elemental rings and amulets are all the rage for all classes and this one is no exception. Higher level rings and amulets will provide attack bonuses that apply to weapons and damaging force spells.

Level 1
This is where you develop those force skills. Although the game asks you to pick two elements on character creation, don't think that you'll only concentrate on those elements. In fact, the only way to keep a constant stream of spells going is to alternate through the spells of each element. Each reaver has a cooldown timer. You won't be able to cast another spell of that element's tier until the cooldown timer has expired, but you can cast another spell in the same tier of another element. So cast your Energy Ball(Wind1), and while you're waiting for it's cooldown timer to allow you to cast it again, cast Prism Beam(Fire1). Go down the whole line of elements casting one from each element and you'll be able to keep casting constantly. You can buy Force Reavers of the other elements from the Force Mentor in HQ.

Also keep in mind that the spells you get initially have a no-trade status. It's conceivable that sometime down the line you'll get that Prism Beam all the way to lvl 7 and could make a handsome profit by selling it on the Auction House. If it was one of your initial no-trade spells, that won't be an option. So consider replacing your initial spells with new ones purchased from the Force Mentor. This will also allow you to trade them between your 3 characters through the bank storage (only if they're the same race).

Remember that there are advantages, even as a caster to being able to wear CloseRange armor(higher defense) or LongRanged armor(faster runspeed, elemental resists), so don't neglect swinging your sword and throwing knife to keep your close and ranged PTs at least high enough to equip those kinds of armors.

Level 28
At lvl 28 your max possible Force PTs will be 30, the minimum for unlocking the Expert 2nd tier of force reavers. So when your Fire Force Basic PT is 30/30, you'll be able to start casting those 2nd tier Expert spells. This opens up a host of casting options, since you can now cast the Expert reaver, and while it's cooling down you can now cast a basic spell in the same element. However, the expert damage spells have longer cooldown timers. Personally I've found it useful to go through all the elements of my Expert tier, and while those are cooling down, I have time to go through all the elements of my basic tier twice.

Level 30
Cross-Classing
Your lvl30 profession choice is your opportunity to cross-class. I'll save the bulk of this discussion for the other, very useful, guides that cover the pros and cons of cross-classing in detail. But if at lvl 30 you choose to take on a non-spiritualist class for your carreer choice, you will still have access to all tiers of force reavers and be able to max your force combat PT out to 99, as well as getting all the tiers of skills and 99 max PT for your chosen cross-classed initial class. In exchange for this excessive power, you will forfeit any possibility of getting class specific skills from a non-spiritualist class. This means if, for example, you choose to cross-class to the Warrior's Knight class, you won't have access to the shield buffs of the Knight class, just the tier 2 close range skills. You can still form some devastating combinations using just the skills and reavers, so definately pay this route some consideration. Just remember that you can't cast attack spells unless you're holding a staff, but you can cast buffs and debuff spells regardless of what you're carrying. So you don't have to stop attacking to cast that weakness spell on that accretian, just keep swinging.

Caster/Summoner
I highly suggest you consider choosing summoner as your lvl 30 class. You'll save billions in potions having paimon tank for you, or having inanna heal you. Even if you plan to go Caster and then Warlock at lvl 40, or cross-class to a different profession, you'll be better off if you become a summoner for the duration that you're 30-40. You can then spend your 1,000 gold to redefine your class to your chosen profession.

Level 36
At 50 basic force pt and 50 expert force pt in a given element, you will unlock the ability to cast Elite spells in that element. Level 36 is the first opportunity for you to do this. So it is conceivable to be lvl 36 and be casting all 3 tiers of all 5 elements. But good luck with that, because raising those PTs past 27 gets verrrry slooooow.

You'll also find that you can't buy tier 3 force reavers from the force mentor. These can only be obtained by crafting them with talics and excelsiors at the Hero(explained elsewhere), or as loot from the hostile Turncoat Corites in the Sette region. You might be able to buy them from the Auction House, but expect the cost to be very high, since these are very rare loot drops and crafting them can cost millions in unsuccessful attempts.

No spiritualist write-up would be complete without a description of the spells you'll be casting. So without further ado:
