M ost of us us the same standard pieces of hardware to play online, but we all have different areas surrounding us. Even though we most likely get absorbed by the game we are playing, we tend to be unaware of our surroundings until we are sitting down waiting for the rest of the raiding team to arrive and we look around for something to munch on like a bubble gum or a leftover cigarette to smoke.

   Believe it or not you do have an effect on your surroundings when you are just being static and clicking your nights away. If you don't believe me, take some before and after pictures, and you will see what I mean.

The World is My Gaming Area!

   You are a gamer on the run! ok no I meant on the Go!  you have this uber powerful (or maybe 600mhz) laptop that fullfill your needs of grindfest and guild chatting whenever you go!  Long time waiting for your plane to arrive?  No worries! there are thousands of orcs waiting to be slaughtered by your all mighty axes, the gods of the server know that 3 hours waiting your your late flight will not be enough to get to level 57!!

   And let's not even go into long lines, whenever you have enough baterry you will fire up your laptop and BANG! you are on party getting some sweet drops right there on the bank!

SHHHHH!!! In my Secret Hideout!!

    You sneaky you, I have blown your cover, I know that you like playing mmos.  Probably your significant other or your roomates do not approve of your mmo gaming and you are not strong enough to play whenever they are around. So you play in the loneliest place you can find, whenever they go out for a football game or you lock all the doors before you engage in glorious grind.

   No worries, your secret is safe with us, we know you hide all of your world maps and carefully written boss raiding techniques under your bed whenever you hear a knock on the door. Maybe you are like a closet gamer, but don't worry, we are proud of you, because in your own shy way you are a member of the community.

On Joe's Basement!

You don't play alone, Joe's basement is your MMO headquarters for grinding activities. Was today your turn to bring the dip for the chips?  who cares?!  you can always order some pizza if you forget!. Joe's basement has two or more computers installed and ready to go. The setup is so strategically placed and the planning invested in the basement that even the CIA would be jealous.

Your Friend's House

   Time is of the essence, and when you are driving/walking to your friend's house you are trying to come with some creative almost ninja technique to make the introductions short and just sit at his computer  for some grind time. It's almost like hitting on a girl that has a boyfriend, you won't be able to enjoy later any of the sucess that you have with your friend's characters, oh but it feels so good to see those mobs falling apart to your borrowed character.

Your Very Own Sanctuary

   Your bedroom is your gaming sanctuary, you can close the windows, shut the blinds and lock the door, and just dive into your favorite zen state to glory and fame. I realy enjoy playing on my sanctuary because my bedroom is the size of a small apartment, its  20 feet long by 12 feet wide. Yes, for all of you mathematicians out there, you can actually park an SUV into my bedroom and still have space left over.

  One of the dangers of playing in your bedroom is having a parade of empty pizza boxes and coke cans, remember to clean up after every raid, even if you live by yourself!! cmon raise your own standards on yourself!
