Happy New Year!
I'd post Happy New Year! in many other languages, but seeing as how'd that would take up too much space, I'll limit it to the languages I can actually speak.聽 As drink our morning coffee, watch the Rose Parade, and/or celebrate in our own special little ways, we take time out of our usually busy schedule to make resolutions.聽 So, as a part of that, I'd like to make this a 2008聽Gaming Resolutions article.
To participate in this, you can either make your own blog entry, or simply reply in this thread.聽 There are a few guidelines:
1.聽 Your resolutions should pertain to Gaming.聽 I know we'd all love to hear about your resolutions for the year (yes, I'd love to know about聽some thousands of people vowing to lose weight), but as this is an MMORPG purposed site, it'd be kind of odd for your post to be about your real life resolutions.聽 That, and I'm sure it's a bit private to disclose to the masses.
2.聽 Please keep your resolutions in human capabilities.聽 I know we'd all like to "PWN TEH N00BZORZ" at all of the games on this site, but as there are so many coming out each month, I doubt most of us would be able to keep up.
Now, onto the actual resolutions.聽
1. What would you like to do this year (pertaining to gaming)?
2.聽 Is there anything you'd like to accomplish?聽 And, how would you go about accomplishing set goals?
3.聽 What do you think game companies of '08 should resolve to doing?聽 Is there anything you'd like to see in the new games of 2008?聽

As for me, I'd like to be able to enjoy more time online with friends.聽 MMOs are fun and all, but since they're so geared towards levelling nowadays, it gets a bit stressful/boring after a while.聽 As for my goals, I'd like to establish a working guild in a game that is supportive and active.聽 Now, I know this requires a lot of attention in order to do so, but in order to increase my chances of getting said dream guild, I'm going to prepare like crazy (RAWR!聽 COFFEE-SUGAR-STRESS-WORK RUSH GO!聽 It's like SUPAH SAIYAN mode, except with a little more desperation in it.聽 Yes, SUPAH SAIYAN.聽 Super Saiyan isn't good enough.).聽 I plan to get a group of friends interested in one specific game, and to keep at it for a good while.聽 I also plan to have forums made before the game starts, and to have some sort of VoIP system working.
Game companies in '08 should really start to gear towards more casual gamers, in my humble opinion.聽 There are plenty of level/PvP based games out there, and the competition in that market is becoming pretty tough.聽 Rather than that, I think that more casual games such as Albatross 18, Audition and the like should be coming out.聽 Not to say that casual games are better, or that they have any less competition (Dancing type games have an absurd amount of competition), but there are so many other aspects of life that could be explored.聽 To be honest, I would really like to see something such as Tokimeki Memorial Online come back (which I missed, unfortunately), or something such as a Harvest Moon type game become an MMORPG.聽 Of course, that's probably not going to happen, but hey, one can dream, right?

Anyways, I think that's enough of my rambling.聽 So, on that note, please, let me hear from you!聽 I'd love to know what you guys think.
