By: Mavlock in defaultposted at 5:24 am Mar 07,2011 - 0

Ever wish you could play World of Warcraft on a controller like your Final Fantasy XI buddies? Well guess what, now you can. With Joystix Pro you can play World of Warcraft using a variety of controllers such as the Xbox 360 controller. Gone are the days of keyboard and mouse combos, all you need is s quick flick action and the A button. Jumping is as easy as clicking in the stick, though of course all these things and more can be customized. Joystix Pro is a membership based model but World of Warcraft support is free and ready for download on their home page.
Now as it turns out this isn't the first time the company behind Joystix Pro has released a product supporting World of Warcraft. A few years back actually they released another game pad software called Switchblade. It looks l

Downloadable Content: Week of 02/14/2011
By: Mavlock in defaultposted at 11:23 am Feb 14,2011 - 0

Happy Valentines Day and welcome to this week’s Downloadable Content update. Every week we’ll feature content for consoles and PCs that pertain to RPG, RPG Mechanics, or just tickle our fancy. This week is dominated by classic Playstation Strategy RPG titles, remakes, and some clothing for your X-Box Live Avatar.
For X-Box 360 this week we have:
Torchlight collection (Avatar Marketplace) - A set of Torchlight inspired garments and accessories for your X-Box Live Avatar.
Mavlock’s Notes:What better way to torture us than to release a set of avatar market swag before they release the game. That’s down right evil. For those of you who haven’t taken the plunge into Torchlight on the PC, get ready for some classic style hack-n-slash dungeon action. Also like to note X

Final Fantasy XIII Release Date Announced
By: Radu_Avr in defaultposted at 12:55 am Sep 11,2009 - 0

Official confirmation (by way of extravagant YouTube ads) of the release date of Final Fantasy XIII is finally forthcoming; the Japanese PS3 release will just scrape in before the end of 2009 as promised, coming out on December 17th, with pre-orders opening shortly.
The title is a “PS3 exclusive” in Japan, but else where both PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are due, with some suggesting that the late Xbox 360 port is contributing to the delayed international release, due in 2010.
The issue with the lack of Blu-ray on the Xbox 360 has also apparently been tackled, with the game promised as fitting on 3 DVDs, although understandably the developers are not forthcoming on whether anything significant will be changed between the two editions.
The trailer in case you need to be reminded just how pretty it looks:
Of course, with game marketing being what it is do not be surprised if the final version looks considerably less impressive.

Personally I think they should've delayed it a bit more (January 2010 or February), because nowadays most games are released with bugs. Not the case with console only games, but still... Otherwise, the game seems to be coming

Strike Witches Shooting Game for Xbox 360 Due
By: Radu_Avr in defaultposted at 12:28 am Sep 11,2009 - 1

The latest Strike Witches event has brought with it the announcement that Strike Witches will finally get a game adaptation in its natural genre, almost universally thought to be vertically scrolling shooting action.
The only details released so far are that the developer is CyberFront, the platform is the Xbox 360, and the genre is shooting. A release date is not given, but with the second season in the works we might think it likely to coincide with this.
For whatever reasons, the Xbox 360 is the normal platform for “STG” games, having quite a number of titles already released.
With the release of games like IdolMaster and Dream C Club, and now Strike Witches, it seems the Xbox 360 is targeting a very specific demographic in Japan…
In the mean time, the free doujin alternatives may still be of interest.

Where Did The Lost Gamers Go?
By: VinaStalker in defaultposted at 6:46 pm Oct 26,2008 - 0
Having visited ourselves upon groups of Family Gamers and Silver Gamers, we now turn the labs over to Missing Gamers in an attempt to discover what is keeping them from playing games as they did in their youth.
Although the ranks of the gaming masses are swelling more than ever, there are still thousands who used to play games when they were younger that have yet to return to the pastime.
var axel = Math.random(); var num = axel * 100000000000000000 + "?"; NS4 = document.layers; if (NS4) {origWidth = innerWidth;origHeight = innerHeight;} function reDo() {if (innerWidth != origWidth || innerHeight != origHeight) location.reload();} if (NS4) onresize = reDo; document.write(''); document.write(''); document.write('');
Their lives have obviously changed in the intervening years -- so that available time, money, and attention are now in more limited supply.
But beyond these generalizations, we wanted to discern the detail of what it was that kept them from picking up controller, mouse, or remote. Over a few weeks in the summer we organized a series
Alright, for those of you who didn't watch the video stream earlier today because you were either working or just didn't have the time to watch it, I will do a short, non-biased recap of the day.
Today was all about Microsoft. At 10:00 a.m. PT, the pre-show began, with general coverage and rumors of what Microsoft was going to be unveiling during the press conference, which began at 10:30 a.m. PT.
Microsoft unveiled news, trailers, and demos of some of the most highly anticipated games of 08/09. They showed off the gameplay of Fallout 3 which looks amazing. You can either play in real time or use a strategic aiming system in order to pin-point your target. They showed off a sniper rifle weapon, a machine-disabling grenade, and a mini nuclear-bomb launcher. The game showed a lot of interesting features such as the ability to really decide what you want to do. There are tons of groups you can join, the one they touched on in the teaser was a group that had taken over the Pentagon. They also confirmed downloadable content for

Nexon Reveals Xbox 360 MMO Mabinogi, Talks Maple Story DS

During this year’s Gstar game show in Seoul, South Korea, Nexon has revealed to Gamasutra new details about Maple Story DS, as well as an Xbox 360 port of the company's Korea-only PC MMO Mabinogi, which was announced today.
The recent Mabinogi announcement, which came on the first day of the major Gstar show attended by Gamasutra in South Korea, was relatively unexpected. The game is a more traditional, cel-shaded MMORPG with an interesting class system, allowing players to level up in branching paths with individual attributes.
The game has already been out in Korea, but will be coming to the Xbox 360 soon – Nexon hoped to launch it this year in Korea, but is not certain it will meet the target.
“It’s been under development for about a year,” said Kang, who added that it’s a rather straight conversion of the original game. “It’s being developed internally – but there’s not much more we can say at this time,” he concluded.
Other details, such as possibility of Western release, are scarce, but common sense and anecdotal evidence suggests that the game will be released as a packaged product such as Final Fantasy XI or Phantasy Star Universe, with aims for release outside of Korea, giv
