The heroic difficulty for Mogu'shan Vaults, the first raid in Mists of Pandaria, has been unlocked this Tuesday.

Along with the heroic difficulty, the first three bosses were enabled too, on raid finder difficulty.

Some of the top guilds of the world, were trying to compete against each other and here's a brief overview about their standings.

Only one guild has been able to clear all six encounters on heroic difficulty thus far. The absolute winners of the race are DREAM Paragon (Lightning's Blade - EU) with their 10-player raid.

The second place, goes for Blood Legion (Illidan-US), who have been competing with Paragon. It must've been hard though, because instead of doing 10-player raids, they completed the first five bosses on heroic difficulty with 25 players.

The highly-anticipated Mists of Pandaria expansion, will be released in under 20 days.

I've been playing the game since its beta, so I'll try to give it a quick, somewhat unbiased review:

Positive things about Mists of Pandaria

No flying mount in Pandaria at level 85 - finally leveling will be more challenging and time-consuming. I mean sure, if you'll get dismounted by a daze effect, you want to break the nearest object within your reach, but hey, this makes you at least enjoy the new content.

New quest mechanics - I personally love the new quest mechanics. If you compare it to quests in Wrath of the Lich King or the Burning Crusade, then, the quest mechanism has been vastly improved. It makes use of phasing, most of the quest givers across Pandaria are voiced and you'll see vid

Farming Valor Points will now be easier on your alts. As long as your main character has reached its weakly cap (1000/1000) of Valor Points, all other characters (alts) on your account have a 50% Valor Point buff increase to make farming easier.

Along with the buff, a total maximum of Valor Points you can have per character has been brought to the game. You cannot have more than 3000 Valor Points on one character at a time.

Valor Points are used to purchase powerful PvE armor and weapons. You can get them from various sources, be it by completing daily quests, in the raid finder or heroic dungeon finder up to raids. Even Scenarios and Challenges reward them, so obtaining VP now, should be a more pleasurable experience.

In Wrath of the Lich King world bosses such as Doom Lord Kazzak were removed and they are being brought back in Mists of Pandaria. Today, Blizzard made a preview, describing one of the new world bosses in Pandaria, who's located in Valley of the Four Winds.

Boss description:

The ruthless saurok roam pandaria, stealing what they can and harassing the island's other inhabitants. The most infamous of these reptilian pillagers are Chief Salyis and his warband. For years, the saurok commander and his raiders have stormed through the Valley of the Four Winds atop Galleon, a collossal and well-armed mushan that is more a moving fortress than a simple mount.

Abilities

FIRE SHOT - Saurok Skirmishers riding on Galleon's back fire flaming crossbow bolts at random players inflicting Fire damage.

With the launch fast approaching, Blizzard Insider sat down with Lead Encounter Designers Scott Mercer and Ion Hazzikostas to get an inside look at the expansion’s newest raid instance -- Mogu’shan Vaults -- and the ancient secrets and epic encounters that await players inside.

Before we dive into the details, can you give us a quick overview of the lore behind the Mogu’shan Vaults? How does the raid fit into larger story of Mists of Pandaria?

Scott Mercer: 
The mogu are an ancient race of evil, ogre-like sorcerers who once dominated Pandaria.  At some point in the distant past, all of the warring mogu factions were united by a single tyrannical warlord known as the Thunder King. The Thunder King rose to power the “the mogu way,” namely by eliminating his rivals one

World of Warcraft is around for quite a long time. With the release of Mists of Pandaria, players were expecting character model updates. Blizzard layed them off the table, because they wanted to focus on the expansion - new zones, quests and had no time updating models. They claimed they have dwarf model updates ready, but they want to release all models at once.

Blood elves and draenei look so-so, but when you place worgen to a tauren, things get awkward.

Important mobs receive model updates, but players are still forced to wait...

Let's now compare old models with new ones.

For this comparison, I will be using Tyrande, Ysera, Thrall and Jaina.

Let's start with Jaina. This is her old outdated model. Doesn't look bad, but c'mon

I've found some new neat mounts in the game files of the upcoming expansion. 

At this time I have really no idea where they drop, but my wild guess would be that they will be rewarded through exalted reputation, Glory of Pandaria Hero, Glory of Pandaria Raider 10/25 versions and some may also land on the Blizzard Store.

I'll start with my favorite one - Green Cloud Serpent

Scarlet Halls is one of the two new 5-man wings of the Scarlet Monastery in Mists of Pandaria, and is a combination of the former Armory and Library wings of the original Scarlet Monastery.

Level Range: 28-31 (normal) // 90 (heroic)

Number of bosses: 3

Drops: Itemlevel 463

Once you enter the instance, there are two quests to pick up. To complete one, you need to kill 50 mobs inside Scarlet Halls, to complete the second one, you have to retrieve Codex of the Crusade from the last boss. Both quest reward blue items.

On the way to the first boss you have to pick up a shield to avoid attacks from the trash mobs. Nice mechanics.

The dungeon's mobs are mainly paladins/mages of the Scarlet Crusade. This screenshot was taken, while we were going to the second boss.

Armsmaster Harlan is the second boss, you can see the encounter in the video below. He summons adds, which need to be killed prior to burning him.

Scenarios

Were introduced with the Mists of Pandaria expansion. They add the game a new means of time consumption to keep you busy while waiting for new content.

What is it ?

Scenarios are short instances consisting of a series of tasks.

What are the rewards ?

For the time being it is exactly 30 Valor Points. Valor Points are used in the new expansion as a currency to buy and upgrade your gear.

What is the level requirement for Scenarios ?

If you want to queue for Scenarios, you need to be Level 90.

What are the item drops ?

Apart from trash items and gold from mobs/elites, there are none.

How does a typical Scenario look like?

Each Scenario will have several stages. Once you complete the final one, you gain your reward (30 Valor Points).

Where do I queue for a Scenario ?

The dungeon finder / raid finder have been revamped into one. The Scenario tab was added right below the Raid finder tab.
