I just wrapped up my F.o.F. interview with J.P. Harrod for Blogzilla 1985 about his time working on the grandfather of multi-massive online role playing games (whew!), Ultima Online, and we discussed the current state of the industry. J.P. is a talented guy, but for whatever reason no longer works in the industry, and that is a shame. You would think that an industry that has gotten so stale would welcome talented minds, but I'm beginning to think that we are heading towards the very death of the genre.

Or, at the least, the death of new ideas within it.

We discussed at length the positive and negative impacts that the juggernaut World of Warcraft has brought to the table, and I found his thoughts on it to be very interesting. In the interview you'll be able to read this Friday, J.P. explains how the blame for the stagnant state of the genre doesn't fall on Blizzard or Warcraft for being successful, but on other companies for taking the easy road and just aiming for another WoW clo

Let me start off by saying that I personally played TERA Online from the 2nd closed beta test up until one month after it's launch. This article isn't meant to force you into not playing TERA just because I said so, but instead inform you why it's a bad idea to play TERA. I will admit that there are a few aspects of the game that are really fun and it's combat was the only thing that kept me playing for even as long as I did.

It's disappointing that I am writing this article to begin with. I put in countless hours per day on TERA during the time I did play it. Looking back now I feel like I was blind-sided by the few positives of the game and refused to see all the negatives. I felt like if I just ignored the problems for long enough, they would go away. Eventually this approach fell apart all at once and I was suddenly not playing TERA anymore.

My overall observation of TERA is that it's a skeleton of a game. Painted over with pretty graphics and action combat. I'm not claiming

A lot has happend in Helea the past month... and I mean lots! But we were able to work hard to keep moving forward

Hey peeps, some of you already know that Tera (The Exiled Realm of Arborea)  is going to be P2P, I am not sure how much you will have to pay to play this game but I suppose that 15 bucks is going to do the trick.

Of course this makes me wonder if the devs and publishers are aware of this game current situation, first we have a lot of cool games coming by the end of this year and in 2012. Competence (competition - whatever) is going to be fierce for a while and doesn’t seems to be putting up a fight to save itself.

Just look at the Korean release, it was lackluster at best, people got into this game and then returned to Aion, the Korean flag mmo lol!!! After a couple of months, Tera had to merge a lot of its servers and the lead director resigned, those two things by themselves are two signs of trouble.

Now my theory is as follow, if you have an mmo you should expect that your population is going to do down, so you ask for a few bucks per month and then go F2P to squezze a

 Luminary has released their "Cowboy Side" previous patch came out with the cowboy outfit together with new elemental ammunitions for the bow and gun, and with the new Brownie guardian together with the new hunting grounds coming out everything is going wild wild west.

 The new western outfits Add Manufacturing and weapon skills up to 9 skill point and also adds 30 points to a random status, with a stylish look.

 Elemental Bullets and Arrows are added to their item mall which gives infinite ammos for 7 days with additional Elemental damage, which is good to bring on a farming trip to dungeons.

 I was impressed by the tutorial and newbie system of the UWO (Uncharted Waters Online). To be honest the game is quite hard for those players that haven't played Uncharted Waters series. Undergoing tutorials by talking to the "Helpers" (NPC) and joining their "Academy" (newbie school) is a must for the new players (you will be rewarded at the same time).

Helpers can give information to the new players about the functions of each facilities in the city. They have useful tips on how the game works. The Academy is very informative and will guide you through all the basics. Enrolling in the Academy lets you join in their "Student Class" channel to be able to talk with the other newbie players as well.

1. Hello and welcome to MMOHub. Thanks for taking a moment to answer a few of our questions. First off, would you please introduce yourself and your company to our readers?

Hi! My name’s Vincent Haoson and I work as a Game Operator for Game Networks. Our company handles the overall operations of Tantra Global.

 

 

2. Can you please tell us a little bit about Tantra Global and what the game is all about?

Tantra Global is a Neo Oriental Fantasy MMORPG. The story is that the three gods of Tantra, Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu had a conflict and the trimutri, which is what we call the unity of the three gods was shattered. Leaving the humans to fend off for themselves. With the protection of the three gods now gone, Kali the god of darkness released his minions to spread terror and destruction. The 8 leaders of the 8 strongest tribes of Tantra then banded together with the help of the gods who are still at each other’s throats, they defeated Kali and banished him for eternity in the darkness.

The game then fast tracks to the time now, where it seems monsters have started reappearing and causing mayhem in Tantra.

It seems as if I’m a magnet for freaks.

Back up a few months. MyTrickster was sold and the new owner sent me an email threatening to sue me for copyright infringement. Sue me… for us moving our own content. So I called the guy up to civilly discuss this threat and that didn’t go so well. the argument got heated and the conversation ended. He went posting on MT and Trickster Online’s official forums about how much of a “creep” and “pedophile” I was because I called him to discuss a legal threat. I guess it takes one to know one, because what happens next is really creepy.

So, at around 10 AM on August 18th, I get a call from “Mike” at “VistaPages”. He states that they have to shut our site down to investigate some “illegal files”. I told him to go ahead and then I called VistaPages support. The funny thing is, VistaPages isn’t even the host for MyMMOGames.
