Aeria Games had a contest where the winners get their work presents as the loading screen in Imagine. This contest allowed the entire community to interact and take part. This is encouraging as it shows that anyone can have their add something really amazing to the game if they try and be part of the team.

As an MMO, let alone a video game, the greatest thing which can be said is that about this MMO is that the characters have alot of personality. During the course of playing the MMO, there a few characters that you'll meet that will interact with. Each with their own personalities and models which are fully animated. They all do different things. This is something that's great about this MMO.

To celebrate this fantastic news, we've got some exciting Launch events lined up for both new AND migrating users from Aeria Games:

Welcome Migration Celebration (Launch - 5/16): Existing SMT Imagine users will receive the Item Depository Pass, which lets players to rent an Item Depository, allowing unlimited use of the Depository for 30 days. The ticket can also be used to extend the end date of an Item Depository already in use.

Launch Event Party (4/27 - 5/23): New SMT Imagine users will receive the Incense of Training, allowing players Level 30 and below to increase XP earned by 1.5 times for duration of 10 days. This item's effect can also be stacked with the Incense of Experience or the Ashes of the Seance

For those of you who play Megaten, you already heard about how the game is switching its hosting over to Atlus Online instead of Aeria Games. You probably also know about the event they held during march where all of the AP you spent during that time would be refunded to you in April before the game makes the big move. Well that time has come, and the email has been sent out.

Well...The email was sent out on Tuesday, I actually didn't notice it till today though when I was filtering through my email accounts. The email you get is like the one to the left, which is a copy of mine. You get a recap of what the event was and how you can redeem your points. Welcome to the first in my Virtual Impressions series of blogs!  In these blogs, I'll talk about what game I've been playing lately, and what I thought of it.  I'm on a quest to find what kinds of elements do and don't work for me in MMO's.  The first game to be highlighted in this series is Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine, or MegaTen as it is commonly known.  It's run by Aeria Games, which can be found at www.aeriagames.com.

The first element of any MMO game is the character creation step, and it can be one of the most important.  In virtual worlds, I believe it's important to be able to create a character right out of the game that has some unique flair.  Otherwise, you end up with a horde of newbies who all look exactly alike.  MegaTen doesn't give you a lot of options out of the gate, but it does at least give you control over a couple aspects of your characters appearance to not be exact clones of the other newbies.

In game, one thing of note is that the game does seem to have a decent amount of emotes, which can be an important factor for people who actually enjoy to roleplay in games (including myself).

First Impression Review

 

Let’s get straight to what I think the most important point of this game, before I explain it:

 

If you are looking for a good graphic and effects MMORPG, this game is definitely not for you.  But if you are looking for features, you can CONSIDER this game to play.

 

When I enter the game for the first time, my first impression is that this game wasn’t made to satisfy your eyes and hungers for good graphics, or colorfull environment, or even a great effects and animation.  This game just want to carry on their licensing title power where they succeed at console game.  Given the current technology, I was dissapointed at how they present the game at online level.  Believe me, I am not a great graphic game demanding player.  For me, graphic is not everything.  Yes, they will influence my opinion about the game, but it is not the main point of value.  I play some brower based game, and some of them are completely text based.  I also still playing 2D game online game.  And I even re-play some SNES RPG.  But still I am dissapointed at how they bring this game online.  For me, Shin

Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine Online is the first attempt to bring the Shin Megami Tensei series into an MMORPG. If you are a fan to the series you already know what to expect. It takes place in a post apocalyptic Japan and ties together some religious aspects into the story. Other than that it plays like a very violent and disturbing version of Pokemon.

Story:

Some crazy people decided to experiment with teleportation and ended up summoning demons into modern day Japan. Some war between humans and demons started and then Tokyo got flooded. Some guy became a hero and built some tower similar to the Tower of Babel that provoked the reawakening of chaos. The story picks up from there as you, a Demon Buster (DB) trainee, goes to Home II only to find it destroyed and your trainer gets attacked. You end up awakening in Home III under the person who is in charge of training Demon Busters along with your trainer's demon.

Graphics:

The graphics maintain the feel that the other Shin Megami Tensei games had on the Playstation 2. The graphics are pretty much the same, but there is a lot more variety in the clothing and weapons. The monsters are pretty much recycled from the previous games so if yo
