Garriott is best known for his work on the Ultima series, and more recently as the Executive Producer for City of Heroes and the upcoming Tabula Rasa.
Garriott has opened up a site about the new venture, appropriately titled Richard Garriott's Space Mission, where he outlines some of his motivation and the details of the mission.
