So for those interested in Elder Scrolls Online (including me), gameinformer(Who gets pretty much all the info) has a bit more news for the game, which includes of video interview on the making of the game, which gives a bit more detail on the setting and how they're going about things. Since the game is being developed by ZeniMax Online, which is actually the parent company of Bethesda, but the Bethesda team is not working on the game, which may create a bit of worry from fans, but it seems like they know what they're doing, despite me being fairly disappointed that the combat won't be the same as the previous installments of the franchise. For one the setting in the story is set in the second era, which is about a thousand years before the evens in Skyrim. I

Western RPGs Needs More RPG Elements

Over the last few years, I feel that Western RPGs are starting to lose their grip on what an RPG actually is. They are becoming more and more like an action game rather than an actual RPG. Just because you have a level and skill system does not actually make it an RPG. They just use the convenient quest system offered by RPGs to try to make it look like an RPG. Let us take a look over some of the RPGs that were released and see how different they are from traditional RPGs. When you make an RPG game, you have to have some sort of balance with action elements to make it interesting. JRPGs suffer from being too passive and it makes the game feel slow. Western RPGs suffer from having too much action and it takes away from the RPG feel.

1) The Mass Effect Series

Mass Effect 1 was basically KOTOR but reskinned. Mass Effect 2 became more of an action based game and Mass Effect 3 was just almost completely an action game. They try to use the idea that it is an action game, but there is

Elder Scrolls Online Faction Profile: Daggerfall Covenant

The guys over at GameInformer are getting most if not all of the information about the game tossed to them, at least first, and usually linked on Elder Scrolls Online's site. This round they got some information on the factions of Daggerfall Covenant, which is one of the factions you can take part of in the game. This faction includes the Bretons, Redguards, and Orcs - which are all races people should be familiar with if they've played any of the Elder Scrolls games before. Bretons and Orcs reside in High Rock while Redguards reside in Hammerfell.

I made a point of mentioning where they're from for another reason. If you read more into the game, one aspect of it that is highly appealing is that the game will feature a bit of each continent in the lore. Meaning you'll be a

Okay, if you're an Elder Scrolls fan the title alone should have sold you to the idea, it is something fans wanted for awhile now, even the ability to just co-op through the game with some friends. There have been fans trying to create that experience since, well, Morrowind. The settings alone would make it enough of an epic online that I would get lost in the world for countless hours as I do in the main games.

A good example of that is Skryim, I have over 100 hours logged, I have not done the main story yet, just explored as much as I possibly could and did everything I could, and still I am not bored of the game, just merely waiting for the DLC that should have had news out awhile ago. So it was more of a temporary break from an addiction, than saying goodbye to a friend.

But I digress, this news has made me a bit thrilled, and make me want to somewhat break my "code" of not signing up for P2P games, since I don't really like/support that model as much

Unfortunately there have been already some screenshots of the game that was leaked to the public, supposedly from the upcoming June issue of magazine Game Informer.

According to IGN, Elder Scrolls Online will take place in Tamriel, which includes the provinces of Cyrodiil (where The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was set), Skyrim (the setting of The Elder Scrolls V), and the region called Elsweyr.

IGN also added that due to online latency, the combat system will not be the same real time combat the Elder Scrolls games are known for. The Stamina Bar will be the main focus in battles. Use the Stamina Bar to Sprint, Block, Interrupt, and break Incapacitating Effects. All these effects will vary by class.

So what are you going to be doing on 11.11.11 next year?  Maybe you're planning on getting married, since the anniversary date will be easy to recognize.  Perhaps you're going to spend your day contemplating our last year on this Earth, according to the Mayan calendar.  Me?  I'll be picking up my copy of Elder Scrolls V.

Saturday during the VGA awards Bethesda Softworks announced that they have been working on Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.  The release trailer is above, and it's quite spectacular.  It appears that the legends have told about the ressurgence of the sons of Skyrim, who would war amongst themselves until all was thrown into jeopardy.  But one would come that would save them all...and he being dragonborn.

I have mixed feelings about Elder
