Again, I hate most forms of DLC. The main problem from this article is that they have no actual numbers to base this on. There are not even any estimates so when they say many people go on to purchase online passes and DLC even when buying used copies, how do you even know they buy it? It should not be even possible if you do not know how many copies of DLC you actually sold?

People want DLC because it is content that should have been in the game. There is a difference between "supplemental material" that DLC should be and "stripping down", which DLC is at the moment. Supplemental material is bonus material that expands on the game's original storyline. There are good several good examples of this. My favorite example of this is the Valkyria Chronicles DLC because it expands on the sort of jerks that the regular military is yet it does not hurt the original story in any way becaus

This is another article on hating DLC. I just hate paid DLC in general because it always feels like it was something that should have been included in the game rather than released later on for $5 a piece. This article deals specifically with the disc locked type of DLC though. It just feels nice that other people are voicing their disagreements about DLC in general. They need to stop pissing people off with their DLC. It is important to know how to deliver your content and sometimes, DLC is just a terrible idea. DLC is just like paying for fragments of what should have been a complete game.

Disc locked DLC is probably the worst offender of all DLC, even worse than the infamous horse armor from Oblivion or other useless garbage like costumes and palette swaps for your characters.

I Hate Re-Releases

I hate how these game companies are now re-releasing games rather than patching them. They force people to buy the new version of the game when it is like 80% of the old stuff and only 20% new content. It does not cost as much as a brand new game, but it is still usually around $40. It feels like you are buying expensive expansion packs for console games now. They have DLC and they might as well just release it as an add on pack or something. What is the point of having the option of DLC and patching if you are not even going to use it?  It is bad enough that we are already buying half completed games with DLC being the remaining half that we have to pay for separately. Many times people are able to find incomplete characters or sometimes even complete game modes on the disc that just need to unlocked through DLC. It feels like if you bought the old version of the game, you just got screwed. They already have 400+ MB patches so it does not feel like it would be impossib

Just something I decided to write on my free time.

 1) DLC allows mistakes to be corrected too easilyBack in the day, DLC only existed in the form of patches. This was primarily to fix problems that were in the game and were not discovered until after the game was finalized and released to the public or to change the game based on player opinions (balancing inssues). Unfortunately, developers today have taken advantage of the ability to patch the games after release by half assing it and releasing it early in time for the holidays rather than making sure the game is tested and ready to be released. We frequently get buggy and glitchy games that require a patch a day or two after the release. These are not small games either. These are big titles that have had millions of dollars spent on development and sometimes even two years in development. Somehow they let quality control and assurance slip up and release the game anyways. If you spend a year working on a game, you should at le
