I am posting this because Perfect World Entertainment and Rusty Hearts is charging $20 for a new character that is almost a gender swap of an existing character.

One of the things that piss me off a lot is locked characters in any game. It is something extremely annoying in fighting games like Marvel vs Capcom and Super Smash Brothers. Unlocking things is interesting, but several problems arise. When you and your friends unpack a new game to find out that all the good stuff is locked and you have to play through story mode or arcade mode a dozen times to unlock all the characters, this sucks. By the time you finish it you are so pro at the game compared to your friends that it is already boring. The good thing is that we usually do not have to pay for them. Unfortunately, DLC has changed much of that. Fighting games now often include new characters that you have to pay for. Need for Speed makes you pay for content and cars. So, why is he bald? Interestingly enough, his red eye is his false eye, meaning his blue eye is the real one. Every other infected has red eyes. So this contradicts all signs of plagas infection. I have to have a connection to my character. I have to feel it. I have to like it. But having a connection with a character is based off another set of criteria.

So, how does one feel connected from the get go? Simple, with the ability to create their own avatar! People have different tastes of course, and personally, I like my avatar to be a humanoid, I of course want my avatar to look cool, and have just a touch of me, regardless if my avatar is male or female.

However, most games don't allow this key feature to it's fullest extent. Granted, MMOs have evolved from the old days of Diablo-inspired Korean isomatric MMORPGs, where a character's look and even gender is based on the class.
