They're doing it earlier and earlier now aren't they? An article over at gamestm has some news from the lead designer of Bioware's mmo Star Wars The Old Republic. If you completely missed the title, or tone of the article, well the news is that they're looking at giving the game a F2P model. Part of the reason is because of the stiff competition they have been getting from their free to play counterparts, which admittedly are getting better over the years, especially with a lot of the former P2P games making the conversion to attract more players.

How will they do this? This isn't in the article and the only thing I saw from a quick search in Google is the predictions of many that the game would go f2p (dating from around January). My hope is more of the micro tr

As the days tick by, and those who ordered the game, wait for it to arrive (Like me). We still do what we can to get a fix; whether that be playing the previous installments one more time, checking out more information into the game, or anything else you can think of. Well, to help sate that hunger for the game, Bioware has released the Launch Trailer of the game to get you set for the released, which is on March 6th.

The trailer seems to set the pace of what you can expect form the game, which is the Reaper invasion incoming and Shepard getting ready to defend against it with his companions. If I may, the trailer is a bit epic. It shows the races attempting to join together to go against their common foe and has a cameo of a familiar face from ME2, which makes you wonder how much of a role he plays in the third installment. (The Illusive Man)

Unfortunately, due to time restraints on my end, I am not properly ready for the game. I haven't had the chance to re-beat 1/2, since

SWTOR: World Raid Boss "The First" Game Play!

Whats up MMOSite.com, im Zach Sharpes as always here with a quick game play of the World Boss called "The First" who will take roughly a group of 10+ to kill. He does drop Epic loot, so if you notice him, I do urge you to try and get a raid together to kill him. He is quite a tough match and opponent for a raid to handle, but, really fun as well. I think having world bosses in MMORPGs is a great feature to have, especially if they are of various levels and difficulty, that way people can experience open world grouping.

This morning Electronic Arts announced that they have made a deal with anime movie production house FUNimation Entertainment for a Mass Effect movie.

Casey Hudson of BioWare, executive producer of the Mass Effect series, will serve as executive producer on the film, along with FUNimation President and CEO Gen Fukunaga and Director of Original Entertainment Chris Moujaes and T.O Entertainment’s CEO Takeichi Honda and Yui Shibata.

"Over the last few years, we have revealed different pieces of the Mass Effect world through different media. Extending the story through an anime medium is another amazing opportunity for us,” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer for the Mass Effect series. Mass Effect 2 is one of those games that people never want to end.  Normally that's where DLC comes in, but today Bioware announced they will be ending the epic space saga of Captain Jack (Shepard) with their final expansion, Mass Effect: Arrival.  Available March 29th, the DLC will feature three new achievements for the 360 and PC players, and three new trophies for the PS3 players.  It's all that and a bag of achievements, all for 560 Bioware points.  I guess I know what I'm spending my last little bit on.  Oh wait, no I don't, there will still be DLC for Dragon Age 2 coming.  /dilemma

In Mass Effect: Arrival, Commander Shepard is sent to the edge of the galaxy to rescue an undercover operative who may have evidence of an imminent Reaper invasion tha

A couple of days ago, Bioware released this trailer for the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2. What's interesting is the fact that they've waited this long to bring the game to Sony's console.  I would have expected this version to be at launch, but it seems there was an agreement with Microsoft to hold off on the PS3 version of ME2 until now.

Whatever the reason, Bioware is saying that the PS3 version of the game isn't a simple port, but a redone version that will take advantage of the PS3's beefy graphics acceleration.  I should hope so, since we've had to wait this long.  Word has it that the lackluster demo fans of the series have been playing on PSN won't hold a candle to the actual game in terms of visual quality.  We'll find out soon, since the PS3 versio

Over the weekend RPG fans scored big with huge announcements regarding upcoming game releases.  The first, which had been teased for weeks on the BioWare Twitter feed @biofeed, was revealed on Saturday to be Mass Effect 3.  Yes, not suge huge news, but knowing what this franchise has done to popularize RPGs within the mainstream public this is important news.  It means that Bioware is going to continue their award winning IP and give us more of what we love -- and that's never a bad thing, right?  Right?

Above is the trailer announcing the game.  This time it appears that not only is the universe in danger, so is Earth, with millions dying in a week. Yep, stuff just got real friends, and the fight has come back home. London is burning, as are the other major cities

BioWare Making an MMO

BioWare, acclaimed developers of Knights of the Old Republic, has let slip their plans to create an MMORPG. In an interview with Information Week, the company mentioned their plans to enter the online gaming world while discussing a new "complex event processing system," called the Stream Processing Engine. The system will allow BioWare to track players' actions more carefully, which can help them monitor when someone breaks outside the game's rules. The company has not announced any details about the nature of the game, but it is shooting for a 2009 release.

Does this mean KOTOR Online could be just a couple years away? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
