Dragon Age 2 Expansion gets canceled - focusing on next game

Okay, so I didn't even know at first that they were working on a new expansion pack for Dragon Age II, but it seems they were and that they canceled it recently. There is no news however if the next game will actually be Dragon Age III or some smaller spin-off, but there is speculation that the next one will have a multi-player arena in it, which is nice to see. With the announcement of the cancellation they have also released the latest patch to fix a number of issues in the game, and that they would continue to search for and fix issues in the game and they thank their fans for helping to improve their game.
The news also has me a bit perplexed. I am hoping and gunning for a new Dragon Age game, as I have beat the first two

Rumor: Dragon Age Multiplayer
By: Zevri in defaultposted at 12:22 pm Nov 30,2011Tags: dragon age bioware rumor news

Well, I marked this as a rumor, because this is from Kotaku’s ‘inside source’ at Bioware, also they even marked it as a rumor. Either way though, this is interesting news, apparently Dragon Age is going multiplayer. An even odder bit of info is that according to their insider, dragons will be playable, giving people a chance to go against others while in a dragon form.
They said that their informer wasn’t sure if the game is going to be a standalone or part of a full game, but apparently it is being developed on DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine, which if you didn’t know is the same one that was used for the game Battlefield 3. The actual gameplay itself is supposedly arena-based and has both pve and pvp elements to it.
As I said, this is a rumor, the

So yesterday, I told you all about how the multiplayer in the game was confirmed by two magazines. Well, Bioware took it up another notch today by releasing more info on the multiplayer, and a bit of a QnA on it as well.
From their forums: 4 player co-op multiplayer Join your friends in the all-out galactic war to take Earth back. The universe of Mass Effect expands with the addition of new co-op multiplayer missions, playable over Xbox Live, PSN and PC internet. Players can choose from a variety of classes and races, form an elite Special Forces squad, and combine their weapons, powers and abilities to devastating effect as they fight together to liberate key territories from enemy control. RunDLC Week of 04/11/2011
By: Mavlock in defaultposted at 7:10 am Apr 13,2011 - 1

Welcome to another installment of RunDLC. Last week was weak people, so weak there was no reason to post an update. There was one shining gem, but it was so deeply encrusted in the weak releases of last week it took me another week just to chip it out of the surface. Last week's shining champion was actually a DSi Ware title, but that is only because there was nothing else new in the digital wasteland for us RPG'ers. So this week I'm starting off with the Nintendo Wii, enjoy it while it lasts.

TOR previews the desolate world of Quesh
By: Mandifesto in Star Wars: The Old Republicposted at 4:47 pm Jan 21,2011Tags: TOR Bioware HoloNet Quesh Screenshots

It might sound like the Quest! team has infiltrated Star Wars: The Old Republic, but believe me when I tell you that the naming of the poisoned planet of Quesh has nothing to do with me. Honestly. Really. No, Really. Why are you looking at me like that? It seems that in a distant corner of Hutt space Quesh spun quiet and desolate for centuries -- until the Galactic Empire found a precious resource there. Who knew that adrenals were a Storm Trooper delicacy?
Since they can't refine the chemicals themselves, the Empire has had to ally with the Hutts in order to get their adrenal fix. And it was all going so well for them both, until the Sith got word of the operation and swooped in to put their spikey little hands all over things. N

Dragon Age Origins will end their story with Witch Hunt DLC
By: Mandifesto in defaultposted at 3:00 pm Aug 30,2010 - 4

A few days ago a page went up over at the Bioware website detailing the latest, and the last DLC coming to Dragon Age: Origins -- Witch Hunt. This isn't a huge surprise, considering how Dragon Age DLC has come out in a steady stream every few months since the game's launch last year. It also makes sens that Bioware is completing this story now, knowing that Dragone Age 2 will be hitting stores in March. What is interesting, however, is what this DLC entails.
The pack, entitled "Witch Hunt" will give players access to the final Origins chapter, and answer the biggest question in the game: what happened to Morrigan? I'm not in the habit of giving away the ending to things, so I'll just stop here saying that this DLC promises to wrap everything up i

First batch of screens for Star Wars: The Old Republic unleashed
By: daimon_hunter in All gamesposted at 7:59 pm Nov 30,2008 - 0

It's sneak peek time! It's been a long time coming indeed, but now, we finally get to see what we can expect in that new Star Wars MMORPG that BioWare's cooking up. They've finally released the first batch of screens for Star Wars: The Old Republic - and they're huge! Better wait for the full page to load up before clicking those pics!
We got light sabers and Force action right here. It's all impressive, to say the least. The environments you see in the screens below were taken from two different planets: Tython and Korriban. Now I wanna be a Jedi again. No wait, I wanna be a Sith! Or... a wookie? *gurrggggle*

BioWare\'s Walton On Making MMOs Post-World of Warcraft
By: kknd in defaultposted at 12:19 am Sep 06,2007Tags: World of Warcraft BioWare

Gordon Walton, the co-studio director at BioWare, gave a packed beyondcapacity speech at GDC Austin. The interest is unsurprising given thetopic of the talk, Walton's job working on a new MMO, and the statureof BioWare as a company. And Walton's jocular but insightful speech didnot betray the expectations set by the eager crowd.
As everyone now recognizes, World of Warcraft is atowering titan above the MMO industry; its success seems unassailable, but at the same time its success is forcing a lot of developers andpublishers to jump onto the MMO bandwagon. Clear lessons can be takenfrom the game's development, and with the help of quotes fromBlizzard's own staff, Walton delineated what he felt were the 12 mostcrucial... though he ruefully noted there could easily be 60 lessons tolearn.
Lesson one
His first point was that although Blizzard were not experts in thegenre -- in fact, the company had never shipped an MMO before --Blizzard learned well from the genre's past. Essentially, Waltonposited that taking a critical look at your genre rather than being afan or having experience developing it is of utmost importance.
Lesson two
