For those of you whom have been following Firefall for a while, and easy enough for the new commer to quickly discover, beta invites are a big thing for the MMO/FPS hybrid hitting the market as we speak. Currently Firefall is in a 'closed beta testing' phase of the games roll out. However, many are still confused as to the December date many sites have listed, and much of the community believed to be the games launch.
According to Grumms (Mark Kern CEO of Red 5) the December date is actually the Cash Shop roll out as he outlined in his communtiy post "Clearing up the 'Launch' confusion -- December is not a 'Launch'" where he states:
"The game doesn't have a traditional "launch" like other games (esp paid games). Firefall is in a period of what we c

I thought I would try something different with my coverage of Vashj'ir in our continuing Cataclysm beta coverage. As I worked through the 100 plus screenshots I've taken of the place so far, I thought it might be interesting to try my hand at making a video of them. Vashj'ir really is gorgeous, and I hope our first try at video coverage does it justice. Let me know what you think. Should we do more of these, or is the standard post better for covering something as big as Cataclysm?

As promised, iMMOsite theme beta now is available for use by all registered users. We call it beta because it will more than likely have bugs and inconsistencies, we need you to help us during the user experience and provide us with valuable feedback on usability and design. We also have a plan to bring more features to it in further days. So if you fall across something, let me know, thank you!
This blog post will give you a brief glance at how this humble thing works out. Warn me in case I miss anything.
To change your iMMOsite theme you will need to be logged in to your account. You can sign in here or make a quick registration if you don’t already have one. After entering your personal homepage, you can find the Theme button on the navigation bars
By clicking it, the theme interface

Wonder king online is a free to play side scrolling mmo that unfortunately dawns the title of maple story 2 amongst its fans. Though there are some minor differences and a major graphics update- it is pretty familiar. The game is currently is just coming out of closed beta so I cant give you much info. Heres the frame by frame overview:
CHARACTER CREATION:The character customization in wonder king is... well... non existent... You start out with a choice between the 4 classes and hair color. And thats about it. Your hair style is chosen by your class. Now, heres my problem- it would seem that he head and body work separately. That is, your head changes with your class and not your body. So WHY cant you just choose between all the heads anyway? Well... whatever. You can choose between he four cliches. Warrior, Thief, Archer, And Mage. Archers being able to use guns as well as bows. You can mess with your stats a little at character customization as well. Thats unfortunately all there is to it.

All I have to say is what the hell were they thinking? This game was nowhere near close to be tested on a large scale by anyone. The website isn't even fully up yet and they're already testing the game? The game itself does not have a patcher or patch server. You just download .exe files and manually patch the game. If you pause too long you get disconnected from the server during character creation. If you disconnect from the game you will end up having to relog and your character might not be selectable until you restart the client and log in again. Character creation and select is loaded with problems. From the looks of it you might even have to pay for additional character slots for a free to register game. This creates some crap about a 1 character error on the character select screen. The game itself doesn't even have a window mode without editing the shortcut with /win at the end. The server itself seems to disconnect every 3 to 5 minutes and you have to restart the client and reconnect each time it happens. The GMs spawning monsters in town also do nothing to help the situation. For some reason, I also keep getting the blue s

Ok, so earlier this evening was a pre-beta Jumpgate QA session on IRC where some pre-selected questions from the past week were put to the devs for them to answer honestly and truthfully. Now the event was good, informative, but there were some 'wtf' questions that got me. I'll give you some examples of the ones that really I have no clue why someone would ask pre-beta...
Will the lateral thrusters take away from the power of the main thrust, and how is agile development working out for this type of an app?
There are so many things wrong I can't really be bothered to list them. In a nutshell, why do you need to know if a lateral thruster will take away power from the main thrust? In everything I

W101 is a game with a wizarding school theme. Not to name any names, but our favorite prodigal wizard and his friends would feel right at home here at Ravenwood.
Wizard101 has some fantastic features to it, mainly the security and privacy settings so that parents can control when and how their children play.I know that many games now offer this feature, but many of those games are not as friendly or easy to interface with as W101. The login is simple, character creation is actually fun and would be easy for younger gamers to grasp.
As you walk through the first few quests, you encounter the very cool combat system that is a hybrid of a collectible card game and a Final Fantasy type game. Your spells that you cast while in combat are governed by the different types of creature and spell cards that you carry in your spell deck. These cards are obtained as loot, through quests, and by trainers of the specific Wizardry school you decide to focus on. You hav
