What should be in an MMORPG? Gears vs Strategy vs Skills
By: iamjuly in defaultposted at 5:29 pm May 10,2012 - 2

MMORPGs usually consist of PVE (battle with AI mobs) and PVP (battle with other players). When you enter into battle, which should be the most important factor to consider? Before I start the discussion, let me first define the three factors for clarity.
Gears
Gears are the weapons and equipment that you acquire by buying in auction houses and cash shop, crafting using materials, or looting from monsters and treasure chests. A good example of MMORPG using this model is... well... many point-and-click MMORPGs in which the one with the most upgraded gear wins the battle.
Strategy
By strategy, I mean careful planning and doing things in order to win a battle. This means efficient usage of skills, carefully planned moves, anticipation of the enemy's next m

Illian's First Impression SW:TOR Space Battles
By: Illian.Amerond in Star Wars: The Old Republicposted at 9:20 pm Nov 29,2011 - 3
Greetings and Salutations all you Star Wars fans,
I believe we all had a blast with this last wave of weekend beta testings. I have had a chance to play all the classes but 2 to around level 11 or 13, and finally knuckled down with my Sith Inquisitor to get her up to level 28 before the testing finally was over. I really enjoyed the level of detail they are putting into the story and it's involvement in the characters life.
In many instances I have made some interesting choices during the progression of the character story and was surprised to see some of the developments in the game. Nearly every chance to make a choice you have some kind of impact on your characters future.
I played the PvP a great deal and loved the variation of the battle fields. You could not just queue up for the same

Finally managed to get out of the M41 ... (And a few other things)
By: Tbiggs in World of Tanksposted at 9:46 am Aug 14,2011 - 0
Hi It's me again, sorry about the long wait, My silly family thinks i would prefer slapping misquito's rather then blowing up tanks.
So after a long haul, and converting expierience over using gold, I've managed to get into the M12.
Well Not quite. I still have to save up the 1.2 million silver in order to buy it. But i have a feeling that will be much easier then the 112,000 experience it took me to reach this artillery piece.
I'm hoping it will be a bit more promising then the last range of artillery pieces - But i don't know, When browsing the forums, I see no mentoin of the M12, Rather it's follower the M43. But We'll see.
In other news, Sorry for not telling you about this, The 1 year WoT birthday event was happening, and they are awarding x5 times the regular experience for winning matches instead of the ususal x2. Gold ammo is very cheap, and let me say. It does help. All the power of armor piercing plus all the damage of high explosive amm

War Zone 07-21-2011
By: Tbiggs in World of Tanksposted at 5:15 pm Jul 21,2011 - 1
Dear Mom,
It's been quiet lately here on the lines, at least a quiet respite from the daily battles we're all part of. Each day i polish my tank [Scratch]
What am i doing. This is WoT not some silly war movie...
I'm still pushing. I have this driving Need to get into a Tier 6 Artillery. It burns me, and fills me up with bitterness that i have this wreck of an M41. I've switched the guns off the thing from the credit hog 105 to the lighter but more accurate 90mm, in hopes to actually hit more targets. While i'm still pretty far away from my 120k or so i need to fire up the next level, the desperation or rather the hate of my machine grows day by day.
If the dev's nerf the Artillery anymore, i fear it will become an amusement, rather then a staple part of the game. I'll try a few more matches tonight before i rip out any more hair.
On the heavy front, I've finally managed to mount a 90 mm gun on my m6 tank and things are definatly moving along, I feel i can ac

10 Very Annoying RPG Boss Battles
By: Zanpakutou in defaultposted at 9:13 pm Sep 05,2009 - 0
Over the last decade or so, I've played a lot of games. The following are the bosses that I consider to be the most ridiculous and most annoying to fight. Simply either because they are ridiculously tough or just have an annoying ability that is difficult to counter. These bosses tend to be extremely cheap or overpowered or both. Final Fantasy didn't make it to the list because of Auto-Life and Armaggeddon spam. You know what I'm talking about if you've ever fought that boss.

1) Shin Megami Tensei Series (Digital Devil Saga, Nocturne, and Persona dunno about Raidou)
Boss: Almost any fight but especially the cameo battles
These bosses are loaded with the cheapest and most powerful attacks with almost no way to counter them except through trial and error. In the special optional boss battles, the boss will consider any abilities that nullify or absorb an attack to be a cheap shot. In response they will instantly kill your entire party (9999 damage to everyone when max hp is 999) until you restructure your team. Most of these battles are a test of endurance against an enemy with insane damage. You have to be careful because if the battle drags out too long, they will use t

TB review.

Turf Battles is back and better than ever, this time being published by the ever changing Aeria Games, the same people who have brought you other popular games such as Last Chaos, 12 Sky, Shaiya and Dream of Mirror. However, I’m sure many of you must be wondering, what’s the point in publishing a game that was previously shut down? Well, to answer that, we’re going to have to take another look at this games rather impressive features.

At first, this game takes the aspect of most other MMORPGs al

Some of you might be familiar with Turf Battles from a few years back. However, for those of you who are not, It is an MMORPG that was released a couple of years back, but is now being re-published and re-released by Aeria-Games. To be honest, I had never played this game before and was reluctant to review it, especially seeing that it has already failed once before. However, as the saying goes, just about everything
