Karkin
Karkin spawns in Fireplume Peak--you'll reach him by jumping off Skitterflame's Ledge. He is a crab with a shiny metallic skin that casts a frontal fire attack from range. Again, you will have to jump between floating rocks to get in range to tame Karkin, but not too close or else you’ll be attacked.
Skarr
Skarr is a gorgeous black cat with glowing eyes who is also located on various floating rocks in Fireplume Peak. He starts off hitting weak, but hits harder over time. The trick is to tame him from another floating island. You will need to be good at jumping as flying mounts are not allowed on the Molten Front.

Well, I somehow managed to get a beta invite, I was so ecstatic when I received it too. In fact, I am almost positive that my neighborhood was aware that I had received it as soon as I found out. Haha! :)
Anyway, I thought I'd set this up for all you "MMOSiter's" out there interested in what the beta currently has to offer. I do live streams as often as I can and even when I am not online I run pre-recorded game play for your viewing entertainment!
It even has a built in chat window so that you can discuss what's going on in game. Everything from barbershops to new abilities; so come on over and check it out! :)

This Vivendi press release announces that the parent company of Vivendi Games and Blizzard had a 6.4 percent increase in revenues for the first half of 2007 with revenues of €10.223 billion ($13.97 billion). While the company's actual profits were down 49 percent from the same period a year ago (due to other aspects of the company) Vivendi Games's revenues were up a whopping 91.9 percent from the same period a year ago with €119 million ($162.67 million), thanks largely to the sales success of Blizzard's hit MMO World of Warcraft and its expansion pack The Burning Crusade.

WoW - Netherwing Reputation Tips

When Ner'zhul recklessly opened multiple new portals on Draenor, theresulting magical stress tore the planet apart. The energies releasedin this catastrophe altered Deathwing's eggs, resulting in the netherdrakes: ethereal dragons whose bodies are composed of energies from theTwisting Nether. Without Deathwing's guidance, these otherworldlynether drakes are just now finding their own way among the blastedruins of Outland.
The nether drake information page has more details on the nether drakes themselves, including a movie.
Players earn reputation and complete quests for the Netherwingto earn experience, gold, and to ultimately receive a nether drakeflying mount. This epic mount can best be described as "extremelycool." Once you reach exalted reputation with Netherwing, you receive afree nether drake mount after completing some quests. Additional netherdrakes of different colors can thereafter be purchased for 200 goldeach.
Every player begins at hated reputation. If you want to win over theNetherwing brood you will first need to talk to Mordenai, a NPC whotravels around the Netherwing Fields in Shadowmoon Valley. He willoffer you a questline that take you all the way to neutral repu

Breakfast Topic: Which faction is more mature?

In the age-old debate on which faction holds supremacy over the other, this topic arose on the WoW Ladies forum: which faction is the most mature, Horde or Alliance? Now, it seems to me that it's hard to pin this one down, seeing as how the population of servers varies greatly. And we're not even talking about the age level of players.
It seems more interesting to me to discuss the maturity levels of WoW players on both sides of the game. In my personal experience, I haven't seen much in the way that would indicate a winner on either side, but I also play mostly Alliance on a PvE server. Yes I've seen my share of idiots, I've grouped with them, heck I've even been them on occasion. My horde experience mostly comes from playing in our blog guild, but the It Came from the Blog members seem to be a cut above the rest, so I am not sure I can count them as a slice of the general Horde population. In your experience, have you found Horde players or Alliance players to be more mature?

The Life of the Chinese Gold Farmer
By: junkroom in defaultposted at 9:41 am Jun 20,2007 - 0
It was an hour before midnight, three hours into the night shift with nine more to go. At his workstation in a small, fluorescent-lighted office space in Nanjing, China, Li Qiwen sat shirtless and chain-smoking, gazing purposefully at the online computer game in front of him. The screen showed a lightly wooded mountain terrain, studded with castle ruins and grazing deer, in which warrior monks milled about. Li, or rather his staff-wielding wizard character, had been slaying the enemy monks since 8 p.m., mouse-clicking on one corpse after another, each time gathering a few dozen virtual coins — and maybe a magic weapon or two — into an increasingly laden backpack.
Skip to next paragraphThe end of a 12-hour shift at Donghua Networks in Jinhua, China.

VideoThe Wizards of Warcraft
Twelve hours a night, seven nights a week, with only two or three nights off per month, this is what Li does — for a living. On this summer night in 2006, the game on his screen was, as always, World of Warcraft, an online fantasy title in which players, in the guise of self-created avatars — night-elf wizards, warrior orcs and other Tolkienesque characters —
