Hey peeps, a few days ago I reinstalled my Tribes: Ascend client and decided to give the game another go, the first thing I notice is that now the game have another gameplay mode, 'CTF Blitz'. Needlessly to say it, I played it like no tomorrow for a whole day.

What exactly is the big deal between CTF Blitz and just CTF???? The only big difference is that in CTF Blitz the flag moves around to a different place if you or one of your team mates capture it... The same goes if the enemy 'cap' your flag.

That kinda looks insignificant because you are playing in the same maps with the same classes and the same equipment but if you consider that in CTF the strategy is the same all the time and from all the sudden you need to adapt and move your defenses around and take a different approach if you want to capture the flag like a lightning bolt. You will notice that the whole mechanic of moving the flag around turns into a big deal!

Its been a long time since I have wrote in article and I am just going to talk about a subject that has been coming up.

What do you guys think of the new free to play games on Steam? Do you think that you would have ever tried them if they weren't on Steam? It does seem like Free to Play is the future. Subscriptions seem to be disappearing. World of Warcraft has been losing considerable subscribers. Guild Wars 2 is just a Buy to Play game which i think is great.

Sorry if I am getting off topic. There is over 50 Free to play games on Steam and it is continuing to grow. With popular games such as Vindictus from Nexon and Tribes: Ascend from Hi-Rez Studios. And I can't forget the Steam game Team Fortress 2. I am glad that now I can communicate with my friends easier through this.

The ‘Brute’ is probably my favorite class in the whole ‘Tribes: Ascend’ world, its full of powerful weapons, powerful gadgets, strong armor, a very high health pool and is probably one of the best tools if you want to bash someone else’s reactor.

My style is very simple and straight forward, get into the enemy base and waste the crap of that place (destroy the reactor and structures). That is what I do with the Brute, IT OWNS!!!!! When you fight in close quarters, the ‘Heavy Spinfusor’ does a lot of damage and the shotgun doesn’t forgive anyone when a noobtard tries to rush you in the face.

Outside, the best thing you can do is turn into a structure killing machine, I know that it sounds kinda crazy to destroy those things but that is pretty much your only choice because the Brute have one

Tribes: Ascend will begin its closed beta testing tomorrow, Nov 4. The beta announcement also has indicated that there will be no character wipes between closed beta and release. Players may sign up at the website for a closed beta slot, or may purchase the game’s VIP Starter Bundle for a guaranteed testing spot.

Tribes: Ascend will offer jetpacks and multiplayer combat in a free-to-play environment. The closed beta phase will feature two of the game’s classes at start – Soldier and Ranger – with ten additional classes that may become permanently unlocked. The beta will also offer two game modes, three drivable vehicles, and servers for North America, Europe, and Australia (with private servers and ranked servers to become available by release).
