Top 10 gaming consoles in my memory
By: The_Only_7 in defaultposted at 1:35 am Dec 16,2010 - 1

A few days ago, I wrote an article aboutThose games with me throughout my childhood. It is about those old games accompany me throughout my childhood. After reading that article someone might wonder: “what did you do before having a PC? Did you play games at that time?” Yah, of course! It is an indispensable fun for a kid who really loves games (LOL! Do you have the same feelings?). And I played in gaming consoles instead of computers.
As you know, more than 10 years ago, computers were not popular at all (at least it is the situation in my hometown). And many families can’t afford to buy a computer cuz of its unacceptable price (in fact, it is even a luxury for my family at that time). So I had to enjoy myself by playing black-and-white-television games through gaming co

52% of PSP owners are females

Nielsen Media Research has issued its latest statistics about game audiences in the U.S. Nielsen defines active gamers as those who play for at least an hour every week (on any console or PC), and reports that 45% of them are female.
The Wii has more female owners than the average console, with 49% female ownership in the U.S. But the PSP trumps that with a whopping 52% female ownership in the U.S. It seems that handheld gaming is more attractive to America's females than even the everyone-friendly Wii, albeit by only a few percentage points.
In addition to the gender breakdown, Nielsen also reports that 73% of homes in the U.S. have some sort of device used specifically for gaming (including PC gaming), and 54% of homes own a gaming-specific console or handheld gaming system.
Also, the XBox 360 has FINALLY dethroned the PS2 for the top spot in Nielsen's list of "total usage minutes," with the Wii right behind the PS2 as well.
XBox 360: 23.1%
PS2: 20.4%
Wii: 19%

My Tribute to the PS2: Goodbye Beautiful

My Tribute to the PS2: Goodbye Beautiful

Goodbye Beautiful.
You lived so long it must be your time. You are the last of your kind right now, while your competators died the day their successors arrived, you kept on living. "A decade and beyond" you say, "I can still push one more" is what you are telling me, but your time is up.
I had great times with you and upon my youth you were my foundation. You brought me great entertainment from rolling up random objects and living things in Katamari Damacy, to fighting breathtaking collossi in Shadow of the Collosus. You really had everything I loved. FPS, Real-time strategy, adventure, RPG, Racing, Sports, Music, Comedy..etc. Everything about you was beautiful. Your games had amazing graphics and wonderful depth and design. You made me think outside the box, push my boundaries and brought out my imagination like no other.

Yet it is time for me to step into the new generation where everything seems so foreign to me. People starting using terms like casual and hardcore gaming. I am confused with where I fit in. Everyone is telling each other "Your console is not made for me&qu

Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy Review
By: Zanpakutou in defaultposted at 8:12 pm Sep 03,2009 - 0
I didn't manage to get far enough in Aion before I got bored of it so no review of it from me. I just gave up on it. Instead I started playing Mana Khemia 2 for the PS2 and since I haven't done any reviews in a while I decided to do this one because its at least a game I'm interested in.
Story:
Many years (10-15 at least) have passed since the first Mana Khemia. Alchemy is in decline and the school Al-Revis has converted into a traditional school rather than stay as an elite school of alchemists. Tony and Flay from the first game have become teachers of alchemy in the school. The story itself is divided into 3 parts the first 2 can be played in either order through Raze (not his full name) and Ulrika (I might have mispelled this one). Only after completing the first 2 is the 3rd one available. The first 2 show opposite sides of events occuring at about the same time and the 3rd part is more or less the conclusion where everyone comes together.

Ar Tonelico II Review
By: Zanpakutou in defaultposted at 8:23 am Feb 09,2009 - 0

Ar Tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica is the sequel to Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia. The game is similar to the Atelier Iris series but rather than focusing on alchemy, it focuses on Reyvateil, basically women who have the ability to cast song magic. There are some references to the first game that you will not understand if you have not played it yet. These are mostly unimportant to the story. Ar Tonelico II has a completely different fighting system than the other games by Gust.
NOTE: A few Ar Tonelico I spoilers so keep that in mind when you are reading this. I will try to minimize spoilers.
Story:
The story focuses on Croix who is a knight for Grand Bell. Little is told about each of the characters until later in the game. When it begins, you are thrown in the middle of a conflict w

.hack//G.U. Vol 1, 2, and 3 Review
By: Zanpakutou in defaultposted at 8:28 pm Jan 31,2009 - 1

The .hack series was one of the first to split their game up into multiple parts due to the length of the story. Each game in the series focused on a specific part of the overall story. .hack G.U. was a trilogy released a few months apart from each other. It is based around an MMORPG known as “The World: R2” in which the players rely on hunting each other and performing Player Kills (PK) rather than play the game for themselves. Although its predecessor was a flop, the G.U. Series was a complete turn around for the series. This review will combine the 3 G.U. games (Rebirth, Reminiscence, and Redemption) into 1 gigantic review. I will attempt to minimize spoilers. There is a lot of stuff so I might forget a few things. G.U. has multiple meanings, but its primary meaning is

Fake consoles for money or fun?
By: Endlesschaos in defaultposted at 11:03 pm Dec 24,2008 - 1
Hey, guys, is "POP" mean anything to you, as well as "PZ3" "Vii"? When I saw these pictures for the first time, I was like "WTF" and thought I was totally a noob. After googling tons of pages, more and more such fake things shock my head, so I would ask you guys, how do you think of them?

As I know, the "POP" thing is just a mp4 with a wide screen, what the fuck!

I'm dumb, just no comment ...

Anyone tells me what the hell is that character between P and 3 ???

The P (wtf) 2
Maybe someone really think this shows creativity, I agree if they are only made for fun, for amusing people, like some kind of peripheral products or player D.I.Y artworks. However, they look disgusting generally just because of copying the idea or look of existent successful products with the aim of making money. Mostly fake consoles always have a not-bad interface, but it will be turned out they are far behind times and completely useless inside. I should say the following fake consoles all have been worked hard on how to stealing others' ideas, they have done a good job, but the lack of technical support and the rea

Final Fantasy XI's latest update goes live, brings level syncing to game
By: daimon_hunter in Final Fantasy XIposted at 1:06 am Sep 12,2008 - 0
Denizens of Vana'diel will be glad to know that the latest update for Final Fantasy XI (PC, Xbox 360, PS2) is now up and running, and should provide you with new content and opportunities for fun! While the full details are rather long, there's one notable addition that should make playing with your friends more challenging. The level-syncing feature is now up, and it allows higher-leveled players to power down their character and gear to a level appropriate to that of their lower-leveled friend. They can then undertake quests at that level and, in turn, earn experience and reap the benefits of friendship! The full details behind this latest update and the level-syncing process can be found in the source article. In the meantime, you might want to go online and update your game. |

Final Fantasy XI introduces Level Syncing feature
By: zwkl100 in Final Fantasy XIposted at 7:51 pm Sep 07,2008Tags: Square Enix PS2 Vana'diel

Those of you in Vana'diel who want to play with friends of varying levels whilst retaining the challenge of the game will be glad to know that Final Fantasy XI (PC, Xbox 360, PS2 ) will be getting a Level Sync system. According to the Final Fantasy website, this Level Sync system essentially allows higher-leveled players to "power down" and play with lower-leveled characters, gaining experience equal to their level's limit all the while. In addition, the Level Sync feature also adds the dynamic of character items getting scaled down to fit the general level they're playing at. The news on the official site mentions that this new feature is meant to address the issues that have resulted from a steady stream of new, low-level players joining an existing game world populated by scores of high-level veterans, and is part of the ongoing effort to clean up the FFXI community and remove players in violation of the users' agreement. More information on the Level Sync system can be found in the source article. Needless to say, it looks to be a worthwhile addition to the game that adds more fun to the whole MMORPG experience. |
