We all know that MMO is short for MMORPG, which is a pretty spectacular thing. When you consider the amount of effort, scope, time and money that goes with it, they are truly the giants of the gaming industry. What a pity, nowadays, many MMOs are lacking in roleplaying. They feature the leveling and the stats, but nothing of the large sense of place and storyline that the genre hails as its key. I'm not talking about games like as CS or L4D and other shooting games, which don't name themselves as MMORPGs.

Many MMOs succeed in being MMO, but fail in roleplaying. For example in EVE Online, a game in which everyone exists in a single galaxy, the breadth and scale of the genre is breathtaking. The interactivity and socializing in the universe is brilliant. However, it poorly implements the roleplaying part, and the roots of the term do define what most MMORPGs are fundamentally aiming at: being an RPG with massive players.

Roleplaying games means you are playing a role, acting as yourself or a game character, fulfill the quest, which should be interesting or meaningful, not only just for the bounteous rewards. But many MMORPGs just allow you the simple choice of picking a race and clas

That was my reaction when I first heard about this. And you have heard me correctly. The sequal to the highly popular "Zombie" (term being used quite loosely) Shooter Left 4 Dead is being boycotted. Right after a trailer being released.

WHY??

The game is being boycotted over many reasons. This includes:

Significant content for L4D1 was promised, and never delivered
Valve put little faith in L4D1 since they almost certainly started working on L4D2 right after release
The fact that L4D2 is nearly identical to L4D1 will decimate the community for both games
The announced date is not nearly enough time to polish content or make significant gameplay changes
The new character designs seem bland and unappealing so far
L4D2 is too colourful to fit in with L4D1's visual aesthetic
The fiddle-based horde music is extremely disliked, though the differently orchestrated music is otherwise welcome
L4D2's release will result in a drop in quality and frequency for L4D1 content, even compared to before
The community has lost faith in Valve's former reputation for commitment to their games post-release

Thanks a lot Vavle! The new trailer looks promised to me, finally survivors will face the very new challenge of more sanguinary zombies. Left 4 Dead 2 takes place roughly at the same time as the events of the original and far away in the Southern United States, we are now available to role-play 4 new survivors, and new bosses (maybe) in the versus mode.

New features? Sure, at this time you can't just depend everything on guns in your hands now, I think vavle will cut the ammo supply in game and once you are out of bullets, you have to mess yourself in the melee fight, you see that? Axe, chainsaw, even frying pan are all included.

But, well, there's only one thing I feel unhappy about, that is my favorite Zoey will not show up again

Yes, it was a birthday cake using Left 4 Dead theme, it looks wicked right? But I don't feel anything bad, even disgusted since I had been playing L4D for several days with my friends, -_- Well if I have one cake like this, I'm not sure if I would eat it >.< omg I'm weird
