RE: Operation Rainfall Succeeds, Bravo Nintendo For Taking The JRPG Risk

Operation Rainfall was the code name given to the operation in an attempt to get someone to localize Xenoblade in the US. It got very good reviews so far. Ironically, the US was for once, the last to receive the localization of a game. The EU and even Australia got the game localized before the US did.
JRPGs are not really a risk. As long as you try your best to make a decent game, you will usually hit close to the 50,000 units sold mark in Japan. The bigger games sell 100,000 and the big name titles sell a million. The risk is trying to sell them in another country like the US. Unlike other countries, JRPGs are not as appealing to most western audiences. They also avoid spending too much money on advertising in the US so some people might not even know about the game that is being released. The reason for this is that advertising can be much more expensive

Campaigns Against Hentai Video Game Rapelay Fails
By: Hyuk in defaultposted at 8:42 pm May 10,2009 - 0
Protests by US rights campaigners against the game "RapeLay" have been shrugged off by the game's developers Illusion. not long ago.

RapeLay is a Japanese videogame that allows the player to simulate sexual violence against virtual females, including stalking girls on trains, and raping virgins and their mothers. The rapes continue till the mother and her daughters begin to enjoy it. When one of the women becomes pregnant, the player then must force her to have an abortion.
The game hit the news in February when Amazon.com removed it from sale on their website

Equality Now, based in New York, have been campaigning against such rape simulators and the normalisation of sexual violence in Japan.
"One wonders why the government of Japan has not taken steps to stop games that normalize and promote rape," said Taina Bien-Aimé, Executive Director in Equality Now's New York office. "As the United Nations has stated, any government that appears to condone such violence against women, which permeates in society, bears responsibility."
Protests dismissed
But Illusion, the makers of RapeLay, have shrugged off the campaign, saying that they are "bewil

Japanese Hentai video game banned by Amazon
By: Hyuk in defaultposted at 5:31 am Feb 16,2009 - 11
Rapelay to be honest is boring (if you've played it you konw that) and yes it might make people feel sick. What is Rapelay you may ask, well it is a video game that allows players to stalk and gang rape virtual women - and then force them to have an abortion.
Since Amazon.com recieved many complaints from its users who feel offended or pissed by Rapelay's sales on the site, the hentai game has been pulled from its listing forever, You can still get results by searching keywords, but the link to it no longer functions.
In Rapelay, gamers direct a character to sexually assault a mother and her two young daughters at an underground station, before raping any of a selection female characters.
However, the game was intended for release just in Japan. Illusion is the maker of the video game and it creates other 3D hentai games such as "Battle Raper1" "Battle Rape2" and "Artificial Girl". There is a note on its offical site: "We thank you for your interest in our softwares and sending many e-mails. Unfortunately, under the company's regulation, our softwares are only available for domestic customers over 18 and not for sale in foreign

Petition to Marry a Manga Character?
By: cozplayer in defaultposted at 10:32 pm Nov 18,2008 - 10

Believe it or not, there is this guy in Japan who is running a campaign to allow marriage of fictional manga characters because he is more at ease with loving fictional characters over real life women.
Well, one thing for certain is that anime babes has always and is a growing sex symbol for single males and otakus I feel, and even I have to admit that females manga characters, though fictional possess traits we men want some women to have. The figure, the personality, the obedience, the ability to understand a man irregardless of situation.
Taichi Takashita, the man behind this awkward and worrisome campaign started an online petition. His goal? 1 million signatures so he can present to the government and surprisingly, he managed to get over a 1000 signatures in simply one week.
Taichi actually admits he’s no longer interested with the 3 dimensional world, meaning he’s no longer interested or feel for real life women. He has accepted that he’d rather be a 2 dimensional character rather then be a real human being, a kind of thinking kids actually have, and I don’t mean that is a good or bad way.
Of course, since it impossible to be a 2-D person

I have decided to commit one of my many Light Novel ideas to paper. It is currently at 30 pages and I have been receiving a large amount of great constructive criticism from my friends...
I had considered releasing it in sections (mini volumes) on the web to gain a fan base in hopes of having it picked up by a publisher / manga / anime studio... (My true dream)...
What do you guys think?

Saint Seiya's Online Version will Come~
By: Ryuuna in defaultposted at 2:46 am Mar 17,2008 - 0
It is unveiled sometime that the online version of Saint Seiya is on development.
Mentioned to this title, most people may think of the same-named classic Japanese comic. When I was still in kindergarten I had read the books of this game though at that time I really didn't know what the story is but just know that it was the favourite books of my older sister. And after that I watched the TV comics for several times~ Not long ago the Hades Chapter was released which had made me very exciting but I didn't have enough time to watch the whole of them = =!
In 1990s, I played the video game of Saint Seiya. It impressed me deeply. I couldn't imagine at that moment that several years later there would be an online version of this game. Well, now it will come true. When it become available, I do wanna have a try~

By: newnaira in defaultposted at 3:57 pm Feb 25,2008 - 0
I woke up yesterday morning to a buzzing sound coming from the window, which I thought extremely odd, considering it's the middle of February, and I hadn't seen a fly in month
