So this article is about the 3 most popular games in the MOBA/Action RTS genre. It's just about my opinion of these games and a comparison and why I play them. I started with HoN when it was in Closed Beta and I played LoL later when it was released. Recently I got a Betakey for DotA 2 which I already played on my friends account. So I got 2500+ games experience in HoN and about 1500+ in LoL. Because I jsut recently got my key and played some times on an other account to I only have about 30-40 games on DotA2 and about 50 in DotA, thus my opinion about DotA2 is not complete yet and well it is still in CBT.

Gameplay

Let's start with LoL, which is I think the easiest of the 3 to get into and to learn. The gameplay is simple, there is not as much strategy involved as it is in the other gam

I have been playing the Heroes of Newerth since the closed beta. I had lots of fun and made some friends there, I saw many patches coming and going. But lately it seems there is something wrong with the game.

Free2Play

It all started when HoN went Free-to-Play (or maybe 1 month earlier). New patches brought nearly no content or bugfixes and with introducing the f2p they also added the hero category "Early Access". If you bought your account before the game was made free for everyone, you can play all heroes + all new ones, your account is an so-called "Legendary" one.

90% of the new heroes in the last 2-3 months were Early access ones. This means you can play the hero if u pay a certain amount of cashshop money (no option to buy it with ingamemoney), else you will have to wait about

First let me say I have never played Dota.  I have only played the games with the same style such as League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth. But I have had an on and off again addiction with LoL, a re-occurring one that has had me hooked on and off again from the game since it was in beta.  I play it, get friends to play with me in it, we team up and stay addicted, and then we get bored, move on and eventually come back.  I mean the game is repetitive to a fault. "Wat do u think of the RTS LoL and the FPSRTS on Xbox Monday nite Combat?"

I will keep my rant fairly short, but there seems to have always been this misconception that adding a skyveiw camera automatically makes your game a "RTS". I played pretty much every Hero MOBA out there, and the actualy strategy is pretty light. A majority of your decisions are reflexive and don't have much strategic depth. I would label it something closer to "Action Strategy" like Sacrafice and Brutal Legend. And yes, there is some irony there if you really, really think about those three games.

I personally really dislike Hero MOBA games, as it feels like the "Strategic elements" are usually paper thin and are meant to make players think they are intelligent, when its really just a bunch of ability spam and

 Why League of Legends be the best then Heroes of Newerth? 

LoL got some more modules then another game, you be a summoner and you got your personal page, this page you must mount your own build and distribute your runes, this will make you different then another players and this won't happen in games like HoN ( actual f2p ). In LoL be a ballance game with the two modules, random game and party game, in random game do you will meet alone another players in a little bit of level varition, tuning that a very ballanced game, can you change or build to your char do will play before play it. In party game can you invite another players as normal then another games like "Dota". All this differeances make LoL the best in this area.
