Final Fantasy III will be on the Ouya
By: Lushy in defaultposted at 12:46 am Aug 01,2012 - 0
Great news for OUYA loving fans out there. Square-Enix announced today that Final Fantasy III will be on the Kickstarter-funded new home system.
Don't know what the hell an OUYA is? Well, if you've been living under a rock, let me tell you. OUYA is the new Android-based at home console system that skyrocketed through its Kickstarter fund. The intention of the system was clear and simple, to allow indie and typically other exclusive handhand and PC game developers to work on a system that is meant for your television instead of having to pay the fees and dues associated with licensed consoles, namely Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The system is open to all, including hackers and modifiers, without the fear of being changed for tampering, modifying, hacking, or reverse engineering. This version of Final Fantasy 3 will be on OUYA for a free-to-try demo and renewed controller support.
You can find out more about OUYA (and watch their handy dandy video) on their official Kickst

RE: When Gaming Becomes an Addiction

I am always interested when people refer to video games as a problem because it is nice to hear their arguments. The problem is when they have double standards and single out video games. Keep in mind that when people do research, there needs to be a standard and you need proof that what you are saying is right. Proof means that you are finding evidence that leads you to believe that your theory is true. Using a theory and then working backwards to find evidence that supports that theory while ignoring others is not correct. Most science involving video games uses the latter method which is not science. It feels like this article is one of those singling out video games as something bad.
The worst part is, this is more something that is a result of our culture. America has easily accessible weapons and a culture where violence is approved. It is no wonder that many of the cases are in

Drops of Nostalgia #3:Tales of Destiny

The Tales series of games have been long running since 1995. I have played most of them, but the one that always has stood out for me has been the second iteration in the series, Tales of Destiny. Those of you have played other games in its line up, you will be familiar with the Street Fighter-esque fighting system. This bizarre fighting system was the first thing that really hooked into this game. When I was younger, the turn based style RPGs were a dime a dozen during this time period.
The storyline, while nothing truly remarkable, was actually quite intriguing to my young mind. Mystical swords were scattered around the world each wielding their own elemental power. The catch was the fact these swords were sentient and were able to speak to their owners and each other. Oddly en

Playing games makes you smart... of course!
Over the years and up until recently videogames / computer games have tended to get something of a raw deal in mainstream media. With a few nasty news stories resonating around the world, the media tend to focus on how gaming changes gamer’s lives, blurring the lines between them game world and the real world. Can Avatar change gaming?
By: IulyaSama in defaultposted at 7:30 am Jan 17,2010 - 20

There's a little art-house movie out there that has a few fans. You may have heard of it. There was never any question that Avatar was going to be big, but I'll admit honest surprise by how big it actually is. Pretty much everyone out there seems to have seen it, even people who normally don't have much interest in genre movies. Even more shockingly, Avatar looks like it has a chance of dethroningTitanic as the number one movie of all time.
At this year's CES, 3D televisions made a big push for mainstream attention, and will start showing up in homes this year. If people enamored by Avatar's 3D theatrical experience bring home 3D television sets, that will lead to 3D video gam

PxP
I came across PlayXpert(or PXP) a while ago but I decided to write about it just now.I'm sure not many of you have heard of it but, I personally like it and think it's very useful. It's a software that allows you to do a variety of things while playing your favorite game without switching windows(Alt+Tab).

PxP doesn't have as many features at the moment even though it's been out for I think about 5 months which is a pretty solid time..One of it's main features is an Internet Browser, which is probably the most used one at the moment. For those of you bumheads who still dont get it, you can browse the internet while you are playing a game. You can resize the windows as you like, you can make the windows transparent and move them around.
Another usful thing about PxP is that you can listen to your favorite tunes while playing. You simply download a winamp extension and run it.As for when your songs become a little similar, you can listen to a radio of your choice. There's also a Volume MIxer whi

Online or Off? - A Writer Club Presentation
Does anyone here remember Mario Kart 64? If you do, then like me you’ll probably have a special section of your brain dedicated solely to some of the awesome memories you had playing it multiplayer with 3 of your mates. You may also have another section dedicated to the dead arms
they gave you when you hit them with a red shell right before the line, and waved as you flew past and took the cup. I still have bruises….
What about Counter Strike at your local LAN café? I still remember the sound of 24 players buying their weapons and switching to their knife booming across the hollow room, followed soon after by someone yelling "Orping is for losers you camping f$%&!" It wasn’t the prettiest sound in the world but it definitely had some memorial properties to it.
Then there is the library of other games that you may have played in a darkened room with your mates too, like the Tekken series, 007 Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Halo…and the list goes on. So where am I going with this? Well, you may not have noticed but this style of gaming is basically obliterated, and replaced by the monster that is
