It had been a year since the 1999 release of EverQuest, one of the first largest 3d Massive Multiplayer games on the market. In my opinion Everquest was one of the truest translations of table top gaming for its time, surpassing even the experiences of the fabled Gold Box series by SSI - famous for their simulation of the table top experience people had been enjoying since the 70’s. While the Gold Box games favored strategic battles in turn-based combat, the world of Everquest was all in realtime and far less forgiving.

Before the actual release and for a few months after my friends and I were hooked on this fabricated fantasy world. Everyday we were either playing the game, talking about the game, or researching what we could find about the game. We literally ate, slept, and breathe

    For me the past month has probably been the hardest of my life. I've failed in more ways than one, I have lost all I ever stood up  for and I no longer know what I want to do with my life. This will be a very, very cold winter for me.

    So why am I writing? Boredom, loneliness? Or maybe I just felt like writing... So, I think I'll try to make a comparison between REAL LIFE and an MMORPG life, in my own vision.

    As an individual I'm not very lonely, but I always have been alone. The closest people in my life are my family but even they are distant, and don't know my true nature. But loneliness is not the same as being alone. Some people find themselves lonely amongst others. It is not about the number of friends you have, but the quality of your friends and what they can offer you. It's like joining a new clan where nobody knows you, nobody really cares, you're just another person to use in raids, instances or farming. It is exetremely foggy outside today, can't even see across the street! But I love days like this because its relaxing actually, so calm, a little be scary for you have to drive slow in this weather or you might hit a child or an old person... . Lately my friend has been not acting herself and its really starting to bother me a lot, she went through four boyfriends in 6 months!! I know you probably don't want to know all of this but guess what?! She has another boyfriend that doesn't even live in the same province as her! She used to be  to be really smart and nice, shes just not my friend that I know and love...  Its so sad, you probably thinking why I telling you this, its because I don't know another way to express this perdicament! My other friends have really noticed too, its bad when 'one' person notices but when all of your friends notice then there is something really wrong!!

A few years ago I created a guild that continues to live on to this day. During the course of my leadership I tried to do my best to keep a united and fun guild. Unfortunately not everything was smooth in running the guild. We had spies, betrayals and other drama. Needless to say it even spilled into the forums and involved other guilds.

 

Here are some tips that I learned based on what I noticed was very effective. In addition some tips I've learned from marketing books and real life interactions.

 

Set A Goal

 

What is the purpose of your guild? Are you out to create havoc in the land or perhaps save make a league of heroic individuals. Your ability to communicate what your goal is an how your guild member communicate this to others will help establish your identity.

 

Additionally, this will help you recognize the profile of the guild member you want. If you want a very aggresive player killing guild you wouldn't want a dozen of loving teddy bears would you?

 

Create Rituals

 

Rituals are a great way to help your members feel like part of the clan. It might be an initiation ritual or a inside joke that you make every time a new guild member comes online

Well, im trying to get into a new game called Runes of Magic ( New to me ) but my graphic card seems upset with the idea and usually just freezes when i entered the world, gaaah! Good thing the paycheck on inbound so I can order a working computer.

Today when i started up i removed the husk to feel the warmth of the CPU fan, and to my suprise i saw sparks flying from my graphics card ( Im not a pro, but that cant be good ) so i set the husk back on and started WoW instead, wich still works though it takes more of my Graphics and RAM.

Moving on, have had a rough break-up recently and still tryuing to cope with the great loss of my " One true love ". But what the heck, i have friends and a fast internet connection, a job and lots of other intrests, i wont be to sad ;)

And as a finisher to my now ... still quite short, blogg ill wish you a happy continuance and luck for the new year ( And for the new year to come )

Friends, what can you do with out them? Sometimes they bug you to no end, just to grind with them, and sometimes they make you love them. Friends are the whole reason I play games, they make it very enjoyable when you just don't feel like playing anymore.

Falling in love with friends can be complicated, or not at all. Friends are my love in life, always have been always will be. I know I'm not the only one that feels that way, and if you have no friends, I suggest you make some, they're quite awsome. ^^

I slept just about all day today. I feel lazy lol. I am happy though. I live with him now. Well sorta. I'm at my moms house like 2 days every week and the rest of the days i'm with him. Well, i woke up today around 3 pm.

Currently playing Perfect World and loving it, 2.5 weeks in and I'm lvl 35. I like how you quest instead of grind, watching the percents jump up is very satisfying and rewarding though the NPCs have sooo much drama that
