Why I Am Doubting FFXIV: A Realm Reborn
By: Zanpakutou in Final Fantasy XIVposted at 7:31 pm Sep 04,2012 - 0
The purpose of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn is that it is a big overhaul to the massive failure that was FFXIV. While FFXIV was successful in concept, it lacked in practice. The fact that it was a P2P game with a fatigue system combined with the long generic map system had devastated the game. After this failure, the game went F2P while they began to rework the game completely. It took them over a year, but when they succeeded, they announced the game back as FFXIV: A Realm Reborn.
The main problem with FFXIV is that it took too long for this overhaul of the game to happen. When it was performing poorly in the beta tests, they largely disregarded the comments of the players and assumed that the masses would like what they had to offer. Instead, they had the opposite response with people largely disappointed and subscriptions dropping. Two years for an MMO is a very long period of time when many games often hit their make or break mark by six months after the initial release. The fact t

Final Fantasy XIII Review
By: Zanpakutou in defaultposted at 7:46 pm May 29,2012 - 0
So I got bored and started writing console game reviews again. I recently got Final Fantasy XIII-2 so I figured I might as well review both of them.
Final Fantasy XIII is the first installment of the series on the PS3. It differs a lot from the previous entries in the series and has become something that is rather polarized. It is one of those games that you either love or hate. Few people lie anywhere between. The story is extremely complicated unless you pay close attention. Much of it still does not make any sense to me.
Story:
The game technically starts about 2 weeks chronologically before the earliest cutscenes in the game. This is told through various flashbacks. If you want to know more about it, you have to read some guide only available in Japan for it. Each of the main characters are branded by a Pulse Fal'cie (mechanical gods created by the "Creator"). It is believed that Gran Pulse is a land of monsters and demons and their purpose is to destroy Cocoon. As a result,

My RPG is on hiatus but the MUD development is in full swing!
By: Kayta in defaultposted at 6:52 pm Jan 04,2010 - 0
Having been an avid MUD player for years including spending almost a decade being the head builder for a MUD, I'm finally making my own, cutting free all the stress that I used to encounter dealing with a MUD that was composed of anime/video game/and movie content as opposed to deep-thought out original content.
As I do not know how to code as well I can build I asked a few friends from my old MUD if they'd like to join my project and surprisingly

Cabal online review
By: dokvald in CABAL Onlineposted at 2:48 am Dec 23,2008 - 5
There might be a few typos and grammar errors. So i'm sorry if anything does not make sense and I will try to fix them.
(Most of them have been taken care of. It should all make since)
Also please leave a comment, as I would love to know what you thought.
Hello I am writing this review as a way to connect the dots about cabal online. I hear people on MMO sites saying that cabal online is a "WoW" clone. Well this is simply not true. Cabal online is not like any other mmorpgs I have played, and trust me on this because i have played almost every MMO i could find including "wow". Cabal online is a fantasy rpg with technological aspects (not Sci-Fi, don't get this confused). So without any further ado, here is my take and review of Cabal online.
1. Story Driven or Pure Grinding.
Cabal online is unique in this area, for a couple of reasons. Cabal is indeed a story driven mmorpg, and I say that in the fullest sense of the term. Cabal's story is not just the backstory type of thing most modern mmos have. Cabal's story is incredibly in depth. It makes you feel like the hero, not just some newbie poser. With every quest you do, you learn a little more abo

Wizard 101 review.
By: stranger2020 in defaultposted at 3:56 am Dec 15,2008 - 2

A strange mix of MMORPG, solid RPG, pet sim and turn based combat are just some of the attributes one might use to describe the recently released MMORPG Wizard 101. Developed, produced and published by Kings Isle entertainment, Wizard 101 features itself as a casual MMORPG that can be enjoyed by younger players. Teens and young adults might also enjoy this game, but for those of a more mature perspective, it’s probably suggested that yo
