I have already quit Atlantica for a long time, but I still like to keep up with the ongoing events about the games that I used to play to see if they change or if they continue to run their game into the ground. So for the past week, there has been another fishing event. I believe the last one that they had was for the Golden Tiger mount. Players only get 1 attempt at fishing each day if they stay logged into the game long enough each day. This time it is for a chance at Bracelets and Earrings. These are two items that can only be obtained by obtaining the rare items from the item mall such as Wings, Mounts, and Clothes and trading them to an NPC for AT points. Normally, they are for level 80 or 120 mercenaries, but the recent event gives you ones that seem to be superior to the level 120 ones and you can use them on level 1 me

Pirates of the Burning Sea has become the official video game of International Talk Like A Pirate Day (September 19th), and to celebrate they are raiding the coastline of Seattle, causing a right ruckus in the streets, and hanging about the Seattle Aquarium looking swarthy and unkempt. Local Seattle pirate group SeaFair Pirates will be on hand, offering tours of the waterfront on their pirate ship, and you'll get a chance to meet the devs and get some hands-on time with Pirates of the Burning Sea. There'll even be an appearance by Talk Like A Pirate originators John "Ol' Chumbucket" Baur and Mark "Cap'n Slappy" Summers, commemorating the game's official pirate status. Here are some tips for running Player-Run Events in EverQuest.

I. Overview

As many of you know already, back in the day I use to be one of the Quest Masters for EverQuest. We use to run historical quests and events across all servers to progress the storylines of Norrath and beyond. I have been running in-game events for EverQuest since before the game launched. Back in beta while I was a Senior Guide, I helped run the events for the end of each phase of beta. Some of you old timers that may remember the march of the deity armies and the big battle in the Karanas! Obviously, I am still passionate about dynamic events.

Running dynamic events takes a lot of time and resources, so we have implemented more automated world events instead of the dynamic ones. Still there is nothing like an event run by a live person, be it player, Guide or GM, so you'll still see those from time to time.

While it helps to be a GM when running an event, players run events all the time and there are a number of tips and tricks to help you do it. You don't need to be able to spawn NPCs or have GM powers to do it either. It isn't as daunting or scar
