Parents can no longer tell their teenagers to get off their video games to wind down before bed. According to an article in Medical News Today, "a study in the April 15 issue of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine suggests that playing a video game before bedtime has only a mild effect on the sleep of older male teens."

The study was compared to having the teens watch a DVD documentary. One thing I found fascinating was how the teens would not fall asleep while playing their game but they would during the movie. Really? That is so shocking...to who? Don't teens fall asleep to documentaries when their not tired? I'm so glad we pay researchers so well to study things we could all figure out. The study should have ended with the amount of time it takes a teen to fall asleep after playing a video game.

There are two things that go hand-in-hand: video games and...balancing our country's deficit? Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I read this article in USA Today. Supposedly, Erskine Bowles, co-chair of President Obama's fiscal commission, has been speaking with Steve Ballmer, of Microsoft fame, about creating a deficit-reduction video game to give computer-users the ability to try balancing the United States budget all on their own.

Seriously, the solution to our deficit is a video game? Ballmer is such a baller that he can fix it all. I have some ideas. Maybe it's going to be a first person shooter where the enemy is moving money from the stimulus packages to military spending? Oh no, wait, President Obama is going to be a wizard from the Government Faction and he will form a party to take down the elves of the Deficit Faction. That's it.

I don't really think this is what Bowles is going for. I honestly think his idea is to shut-up people

By now, most people think that side scrolling beat em ups are dead. Lunia: Record of Lunia War attempts to prove this wrong by combining elements of a side scrolling beat em up and MMO together. It does a fairly good job of it. After Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst went down in the US version, players had 3 choices. They either played Phantasy Star Universe, went to SCHTHACK's server, or quit the game. Then came Lunia which became the alternative to those choices. Lunia is good at doing what it does. If Lunia had to be classified, I would consider it an Action RPG.

Story:

The story of Lunia is the best that I have seen in any MMO. The game itself is broken into Episodes which are divided further into Stages. Each Episode contains 10 stages and at the end of most Stages is a boss. Between Stages are cutscenes that tell the events of the game. The only problem being that it is automated and you can't advance it at your own speed. There are a few dialogues during the stage itself as well. All of it is put together for a coherent story. The only problem is that depending on which English version you played, the translation is different. There have been 3 versions so far handled

Ahem...sorry about that. So I haven't had cereal in a long time now and because there is nothing to eat at my house, I decided to have a bowl of cereal and OMG it's good! XD

But anywho...I had a friggin virus and a bunch of spyware invade my computer when I downloaded this one game. Thing was, I had already downloaded it once but it refused to work so I spent hours and hours trying to look for one that did. I was getting tired, bored, and a little desperate so I just picked a random site to download from. Then, as soon as it finished downloading, I got the original one to work and I was like yay! And at the same friggin time, I see porn icons on my computer and I'm like WTF!? I look to the right corner of my screen and I see that my anti-spyware shield isn't on. That's when I remember, "Oh yeah! I forgot that this program doesn't have a shield because it expired months ago!" [insert continous head banging on desk] So I'm like freaking out because there's porn on my desktop
